    Oh, cool. No doubt I had no idea when I read YJ #34, since that would've been probably at least 3 years before I knew ST existed, who those guys were. That Showcase I already own (along with, as of a few weeks ago, all the latterday Showcases, with one exception). Superboy & the Ravers I've never had any interest in, but I suppose I'll be acquiring that ish.
    I tend to split superhero comics fans into "People who like Krypto" and "People who don't like Krypto."
    Basically, if you miss the wonder of a dog flying around in a little Superman cape, you're in the wrong hobby.

    Which I think I knew, & which I also think prompted me to acquire it a year or two before I decided I needed to own all the '90s Showcases just because the voices in my head told me so.

    1. Batman: The Dark Knight. #1-4 . (1986.) DC Comics.

    Everything important about aged superheroes in a contemporary totalitarian dystopia that Watchmen had to say, DKR said it first. And it's the goddam Batman. You have to love the way he takes it to Superman, who is a tool and a stooge.

    I almost picked the sequel just to be contrary; it's pretty excellent too.
