2. From Hell #1-10 (Kitchen Sink) 1991-96.
Alan Moore's true story of the murderous masonic rot at the heart of the Crown. Eddie Campbell's inky art was perfect for this story. It made you feel you were right there in filthy London, in the heart of perfidious Albion. There were some copies of the individual issues at a newsstand that needed to maintain a certain percentage of non-porn inventory, and they sat out there for years. The collected volume also served me well as a tourist guidebook.
And unlike my other Moore selection, the film adaptation (this one by the Huges bros.) is quite excellent.
