And that's the problem right there. Fans can dismiss their own mistreatment of creators as just them being, you know, passionate and vocal. Fans can be as crazy as they want, it seems, and sometimes there's not even an addendum to that about physical violence, almost to the point of "Well, if the creator didn't want to get hurt, maybe he shouldn't have dressed a female character that way."
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

If nihilism didn't take some delight in destruction one might suspect nihilists were an unnaturally morbid sort.

I should have added more regarding the way that fans treat writers as well. Nobody, creator/writer, or fan, deserves to cut down someone because of they aren't happy with their art... It's ok to get vocal about the book itself, or the character, but leave the actual writer out of it. Constructive criticism is one thing. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's unnecessary to rip into each other over a comic. I love comics, I'm passionate about a handful of characters, but I'm not going to demean anyone here over their opinion of the direction of said comics/characters...

The pendulum swings both ways here (some fans are dicks, why can't creators assume they all are) but yes it is true, that is not a fair thing to expect a creator to take. but the nuke them all approach is a little much.

I don't know which creators take the 'nuke'em all' approach. I doubt Slott responds to every naysayer the same way. Matter of fact, I know he doesn't from these boards alone.

Dude. Just read Guardians of the Galaxy #1. So freaking good. And I loved the AR content at the end of the issue. I don't know anything about GotG and I got Star-Lords entire origin story. I passed on issue two but i'm going to the store tomorrow to pick it up. I freaking love it.

Is Iron Man going to join the team or is he there for a storyline or two?
Doc Ock - I'm Peter Parker.
Peter Parker - Not anymore Spider-Man. From now on I'm Peter Parker.

    Good post Ryan. - Oldschool

I cannot recommend Scarlet Spider enough, but here's trying.

It's like you guys just do whatever you want with continuity over there. I would never join the Army, Spider-Man would never do whatever has people angry this week, Star-Lord would never be blonde!

    Who's editing these books?!

Yes...the saying the "customer is always right"....in general normal circumstances is always correct.

Of course, there are exceptions to this, when a customer is being over the top rude, unlawful, or many other extreme situations some have thrown out to prove the saying "wrong".

A wise mentor i knew always said "everyone out there is a potential paying customer so always treat them nice". I've always remembered that.

However, he didn't mean if someone was stealing, kicking my wife, doing something bizarre or unhealthy...that i should just turn my head and smile and try to warm up to them. lol :)

comic professionals and fans should try to be nice, and just work at understanding what the other is saying, and realizing that it is all swell to have varying views of the same thing.
"Superior New Day" is temporary: but maybe Juggernaut can be the new She-Hulk! And Skeletor can be Battle Cat. Darth Vader can be Princess Leia in the new Superior Star Wars! Unleash the Whacken!
