I think much of what marvel puts out can be a lot better and I think that the direction they take -in my view elvating the villain at the cost of the hero or turning the hero into a villain and back again- isn't a good one and the quality of the stories suffer from quick plot convenience and lazy writing/editing. I've stated that and I've stated reasons and Wacker has often responded with condescension at best and amused cynical enjoyment of my anger at worst. That's why I put him on the ignore list. There is no point in either of us talking to each other or paying attention to each other. Safe in his job and his power he views the comic book characters one way and I view them another. The difference is that he has all the power to change them and I have none. That is the attitude he has brought to every argument we've ever had and he always tops it off with 'drama queen' and/or 'you love it' and finally 'well you must like them, I know you're still buying them, don't deny it' and I can almost hear the laughter as he types.
Doesn't mean that I'm not guilty too. I've posted in anger and later regretted it. I feel guilty about that but after a certain time you can't go back and edit because the words have been there too long.

When I call them lazy it is an opinion on how they write and I can't think of any other word that describes the laxity of continuity.

Not at all, but your post said that you don't angry at comics, I do. We read them differently.

its also an insult to said writers and creators. When you share that opinion with them.... they might just take it as the insult that it is.

That is so bizarre. You really get mad at cartoon pictures???
Why should I want to make anything up? Life's bad enough as it is without trying to invent any more of it.

Does one feel "good" or "happy" because of cartoon pictures?

I don't know, does one? I feel entertained, certainly never mad.

If you acknowledge one can be entertained, that one can feel one way because of the "cartoon pictures" then I don't think it should be a great leap to understand those same pictures might evoke an angry reaction, too.

I find it a huge leap. Perhaps I just have other things going on in my life that are more important than cartoon books that I can't find the time to get mad at them.

So if it can't happen to you it can't be possible?

EDIT: By the way, I'll bet if you stop to think about it, you may find you're not being completely honest with yourself when it comes to getting angry over a comic. I'd be willing to bet at some point in your life you read something in a comic that got you angry -- but it probably wasn't a sustained anger that lasted beyond the moment (which seems to be what a lot of people are dealing with).

Stories are about emotional manipulation, so if there's not a potential for an audience to get angry, then they aren't as invested as the writer wants them to be.

Slott clearly gets that, and he's making good use of it.

Keep in mind I'm just talking about a reaction to the material that comes and goes, not some kind of seething hatred...

I don't get mad at my Xbox, Ps3 or Wii either, but I sure get entertained by them. I am entertained by TV shows and movies, never been mad at one of those either. I really don't understand people getting mad at things like this. It seems a colossal waste of time and energy.

Never said it wasn't possible, did I? Said it seemed bizarre, because it is. Anger is not an emotion I equate with cartoons.
