The only surprise for me is that it happened sooner than I expected. Other than that, it was the logical thing for her to do.

    From the article:
“I've been incredibly proud to have provided a home where writers and artists could create progressive and provocative stories that broadened the scope of comics, attracting a new and diverse readership to graphic storytelling,” said Berger. “I'd like to thank all the many immensely talented creators who have helped make Vertigo into a daring and distinctive imprint and I’m grateful to everyone at DC Entertainment and the retail community for their support and commitment to Vertigo all these years. It’s been quite an honor.”

    Says it all, really.

Yeah I kind of saw this coming.

I imagine she'll still be an editor for books like Dial H and Before Sandman.

She was a truly great editor, but I'm looking forward to what happens with Vertigo now.

Don't see a reason for her to stay at DC any more.
Berger notes she is ready for a professional change and is looking forward to pursuing exciting new opportunities.

The writing was on the wall with the Vertigo creator contract changes and the cancellation of "Hellblazer".

If she ever stays within comics publishing, I don't see her at either of the Big 2.

Yeah, sounds like she's headed elsewhere.

What she put together has been nothin less than spectacular.

My deepest respects to her. I'm looking forward to more greatness from Vertigo.

I can't say I'm surprised really. Vertigo really has changed. She'll be missed.
Avengers Arena is one of the best books in the shops right now, it's seriously amazing.

Exactly. Marvel should be breaking the bank to try and get her but I think she's got enough rep and sway on her to do her own thing now.
I support Danny LuVisi's Last Man Standing.

Anyone want to put an over/under on the number of month until Vertigo ceases to be a DC Comic imprint?

I'll take the under on 6 months.
