Has this ever happened? The backlash on removing a writer from a title being so string that a major publisher had to reinstate them?

I'm so ridiculously happy about this, I can't even ...
    DC: ASW ● A. Man ● Batgirl ● Batman ● Batwoman ● BoP ● E2 ● Flash ● Dial H ● JLD ● S Thing ● Wonder Woman
    Marvel: Avengers ● C. Marvel ● Hawkguy ● Thor ● W&XM
    Other: Saga

I don't even enjoy Gail on this title but wow a smart move from DC's editorial staff. Who saw that coming? Even if I'm not a fan myself you can't deny Gail is the largest part of that book's appeal and that firing her via email was a completely stupid move.

Plus like the article says, let this be a fire in the sky to other DC Creators who are getting steamrolled by their absolute garbage editorial directions and stand up and for fans who are dissastified with editorials crap to never shut and never back down and never stop.

No matter your opinion on Batgirl or Gail this is a win for fans and creators.

The most notable I can remember is when Jemas tried to fire Mark Waid from Fantastic Four because he wouldn't succumb to Jemas's godawful new direction for the series(which led to an extra called 4 that tanked and was awful)

Well this is good news for the people that loved her on the book and for her, it`s better news for creators it now shows that if your book is doing well and the editor decides they want a new direction and enough people complain DC management may be willing to reverse the decision.

    Oh come on!

I was excited about Ray Fawkes taking over the title and Gail getting new book in replacement.

Now we're just back to square one.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.

With how many offers she got, and knowing that her contract had expired ... I would not be surprised if she will also be writing something else, maybe not even something for DC.

    Huge bummer.

Was really looking forward to seeing Ray Fawkes on this title.

Glad for all the Simone-Batgirl ffans, though. Here's hoping Fawkes gets put on something even more interesting.

I'm pretty sure most of the offers will rescind when the other companies learn she's back on Batgirl.

Well thats a clear indication that DCs editorial is up the shit for the New52. But if this means a lessoning of editorial interference then its a good thing. Otherwise they're just running around in circles. How long until the next editorial snafu?
