    Default Remember the Day When...

Inspired by a Facebook "friend" who loves posting conservative pictures, and will happily chat it up with someone who agrees with him, but shrinks from any questioning.

What could you do say...five years ago, that is not possible now?

I ask because five years ago I couldn't go see a Rated R movie by myself, let alone understand the complexities of adulthood (I'm just now getting a good grip on the paying bills thing, do ya really have to do it EVERY month?).

Was President Clinton as bad for public freedom as President Obama apparently is? If so, what freedoms did he remove?

As far as I'm aware, things are pretty much the same as they were then.

Well, except for the hundreds of civilians that have been murdered since President Obama ratcheted up the drone program, but that's overseas, so it doesn't count, right?

Wasn't Clinton's presidency well over five years ago? Or am I missing something?

It was, but for the purposes of this inquiry I'm operating under the assumption that personal freedoms are only reduced in Democratic presidencies.

I remember the day when George W told everyone that he had spoke to God and decided to invade Iraq. Because ya know...it was the heavenly message .

No kidding. You can completely obliterate that argument in just two words: Patriot Act.

I think that's kinda the point he's trying, incredibly clumsily, to make.

    I think.

More or less. But I have very little memory of anything before my Sophmore year of High School, which was four years ago, and recorded facts only take you so far in an online argument.

Close. I think it's more "please make my argument for me".
