I still loved Final Execution but Remender's take on Daken seemed more than a little off to me.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing the Apocalypse story continue in Uncanny Avengers.

I get the effort behind the run and Remender seems like a good guy, but man, UXF was too bro for me.

While I'm happy with what we got, and what we're getting, I think I would have liked the original plan of Omega Clan, Rise of the Descendants, then Final Execution, followed by The Apocalypse Twins where X-Force has to come out into the open in order to combat this evil that is the culmination of stuff that began in issue #1.

As it is, we are getting all the stories he planned, more or less, even if they aren't in the same order or in the UXF anymore.

Marvel sure knows how to screw up a good thing....

Rick should have finished this in Uncanny X-force with Jerome and Esad rotating arcs, throw in Noto for any additional help

They really tainted the series in the eyes of many readers.

I honestly think the reason that I wasn't able to enjoy UXF as much as I maybe should've is because Marvel, CBR, Newsarama, BC, whatever...kept telling me how much I should enjoy it.

It especially rings true now that we've reached the end and we have these two exit interviews and the SEVENTEEN PARAGRAPH sendoff Remender gave himself in UXF35. We've just been beat over the head with how "OMG IMPORTANT!!!" this book is for it's entire run that it really kind of kills the enjoyment for me.

It's like when someone gives you a really nice gift and then precedes to tell you how special it should be and how expensive it was...suddenly it's not so nice or special.

Same for me. After the unending praise for the book I grabbed #1-6 (including a .1 in there somewhere) on sale and while it was decent it didn't wow me. Certainly not enough to shell out $4 a pop for it. From the sounds of the rest of the issues I don't think I would have much enjoyed anything that followed either. Just not my cup of tea.

also, looking back, what the heck was up with Remenders knack for bringing dead characters back with no explanation just to kill them again?

AoA Gambit, Gateway, Jamie Braddock, Daken....

It seems that Remender decided to carry the story over, and sounds like he has some great stuff coming because of that decision.

Why are you guys always to excited to blame the publishers for everything. Just comes off as whiny.

finishing it in another book is not a good way to end the story, marvelgonzo. I'll leave it at that.

When i say Marvel i mean whoever is responsible for the decision, Rick, the editors, whoever.

I appreciated Rick's thoughts. I'm intrigued about who put the third brain into Fantomex? Braddock Sr? I'm assuming it's the roguish brain they implanted, but I'm trying to think who else was involved in the world who could do that? I love how Remender basically took an ethical question (is pre-emptive killing ever a good idea) and gave an answer with out beating your head with it. Wolverine finally realises how evil his actions as he's forced to kill his son to save the school.

I remember reading an interview (probably an X-position) where Remender said that James Braddock Sr., Mother and Father each but a brain in Fantomex. I can't remember exactly which interview it was though.
