I've got my Japanese Fender Jazzmaster that I love. It just needs a good tuning up, which I always mean to "learn" to do "on my own" but I always end up just watching Netflix instead. And I've got a crappy Epi Les Paul that I keep meaning to get from my parents so I can switch things out piece by piece and eventually turn it into some sort of Frankenstein guitar, but I don't even know how to solder so whatever.

A pawn shop nearby has a Fender tele they are asking $299 for. It's a real Fender, not a Squier, although I don't know if it is US made or made in Mexico. It's a cool sort of steel gray color. However, it has a few paint chips and is missing the volume and control knobs and the plastic tip over the pickup selector switch. It was also missing the low E string, which I see a lot with pawn shop guitars (do they have anyone that can restring a guitar??) I didn't get it down to play it so hopefully the issues would just be cosmetic. I would need to spend another $50 at Guitar Center to fix the missing parts and restring it. I'm not great at home guitar maintenance either, so I'd let the pros handle it at first.
