Lady Vic.
Ha, ha, ha she's showing up in Batwing. Whatever, glad to see her getting reintroduced at least.

Hahahahahaha one of his old villains that has some good potential and she's going to be someone else's villain. So with injustice, amusement mile burnt down, all money gone, Damian dead, next to all his relationships rocky or non-existent, tenure as Batman pretty forgotten or ignored, is it safe to say DC is back to hating Nightwing the way they did 6 or so years ago?
"My former associate has a thing for bats? You took up a pipe to quit smoking cigarettes? Wait, howzabout - holy mistaken identity!"
--Nightwing
Apparently. As Nightwing fans are we just gluttons for punishment?

I can't take it anymore. After 55 years of nonstop reading about Dick Grayson, I told my comics shop to take his book off my pull list. I hate to kick my favorite character when he's down, but how else will DC get the message that fans are unhappy? I've bought his books even when I hated them, but this is breaking my heart. I'll buy the book again when it gets a new direction. DC has always hated Dick Grayson and I am NOT a glutton for punishment. I'm tired of paying good money to what new lows they take the character to next.
I can't be the only one who's notice that one of the many directions people have said Nightwing should go, aka the more international route, was given to Batwing?
I mean, besides the Lady Vic stuff, it really feels like the New Batwing is outright taking the place Nightwing was supposed to have in the Bat Family.
His old everything goes elsewhere. This is just another thing in a long line of things. Everybody gets to be more like Nightwing but Nightwing. They just keep filling out other characters with Nightwing's history and connections, leaving Nightwing and his current world empty. Its pretty ridiculous. Pretty much every single Bat satellite character is taking a cue from Nightwing. From Talon to now Batwing. And when they do try to add something new in Nightwing, it last for 3 issues before they light it on fire so we can watch it burn as Dick wallows in it. While the "new ones" they have created so far have been lackluster and forgettable. Honestly though its not even worth it getting worked up over it anymore. Its just expected at this point.
Still, like i said its cool to see Lady Vic getting reintroduced. And realistically Batwing probably isn't gonna last very long. So she could still make her way into Nightwing one day, maybe.

They need to create new things for Nightwing.
I like new thing if they are half-decently executed. Let's get the new stuff rolling.
New town, new villains, maybe give Nightwing his own partner to fight alongside (or at least help), and there you have it.
I'd try to mirror a Catwoman scenario but be darker. Also there are a lot of shootings in Chicago so I'd try and mirror that but add a twist.
Something like:
Newscaster: A record number of local shootings has the CPD pulling at strings for answers. Emmet Anderson, age 23, is the 16th victim this week to die of massive blood loss from gun wounds inflicted to his hands and feet. Postmoderm reveals further mutilation was inflected after the victim bleed to death. He was reported missing last week. The police commissioner has yet to release a statement about whether or not these wounds have a religious connotation and the recent involvement of the FBI has this newscaster wondering if our city has a serial killer on the loose. We feel for the family and friends of the victims and hope the killer is brought to justice. Now over to Sally with a lighter story.
Sally: The masked vigilante Nightwing isn't the only person in costume this week! A masked ball will be hosted to honor the recent passing away of Ms. Summer Schneider. Her personal effects will be auctioned and donated to various local charities, including after school programs for troubled youths in the area at the behest of her surviving granddaughter.
-----
I'd have Nightwing investigate religious fanatics, and meet the surviving granddaughter at some church or another and she'd invite him to the ball where a gangs attacks and he'd stop them as Nightwing and the girl would show some fighting ability.
I'd have the FBI going after Nightwing because they believe he is responsible for killing these men as they are known gang members.
I'd have it later found out that she (the granddaughter) was responsible for the killings. Her charity was trying to save the cities youths while she was killing known gang members to stop them from corrupting more children. He'd have to fight alongside her to stop gangs from killing them but at the end he would slap her in handcuffs.
