It has only been 15 issues and maybe we will see many Nightwing rogues appear. Hopefully the DoTF will be the last crossover with the Bat Family for a long long time. It's funny that it does seem many issues of Nightwing but only 15 of them.

I agree with this though he doesn't necessarily have to operate in daylight. But allowing Batman the night does give Gotham maximum protection from its two greatest heroes. And yes, more daredevil fun for the guy is in order. I think that's one thing they should highlight between the two. Nightwing should have a huge civilian cast of characters because he's a people person. Cops that he can trust, reporters. He's the guy they go to first because Batman is scary to everyone (save Gordon). Batman has his closest associates and that's all. Batman is the hero Gotham needs, Nightwing is the hero Gotham likes.

    Bring in Mark Waid.

    • Team-up with Mr Miracle would be obligatory under my mandate. Both adoptive, circus performers with a nice sense of humor. That story's got a huge potential.
    • Also occasionally hanging out with Kate Kane. They'd be media's darlings, and their banter would be splendid.

I would love to see Dick and Kate hang out. The idea of Dick going to Kate with girl problems would be pretty hilarious.

This, there are plenty of other interesting gotham cops. I'd love to see Nightwing interact with Sawyer or Driver, and not in the dark on the roof either. Most of all, I love the idea of Nightwing greeting his contacts where they are most comfortable (desk, office, etc.). Like while Batman is scowling by his signal on the roof, Nightwing should just waltz in from the roof access with a cup of coffee for whoever he needs info from and a smile.

Lol I can see them cracking up over tabloids stating that they're involved.

I'm not the first one to say it in this thread, but I too would like to see Dick Grayson centered around some Las Vegas/Atlantic city like town

You can keep Gotham and still do the Las Vegas/Atlantic City vibe, which is what Morrison did. It makes Gotham more multidimensional than making it a generic hardboiled filth place all the time.

Agreed. I see no reason why Amusement Mile can't be a legit borough of Gotham that's filled with casinos/clubs/other buildings that liberally use neon lights.

Not that it needs to be a defined borough, but it'd be the easiest way to do it considering what Higgins has done so far.

Basically, no harm copying Daredevil, just do it right this time. Nightwing doesn't need his own corner of grime and filth (see: Bludhaven aka Gotham's Kitchen), but he does need his own corner.

Maybe that gets rebuild or sorted out whatever happens after the Joker issues. As long as Dick gets happy and Sonia doesn't get fridged or put away like Silver in the 70's, I'm happy.

I know this thread is months old, but I thought it would be better to reply here than to start a potentially redundant thread.

Based on where the book is know, I'd say that Dick winning over Chicago would go a long way towards returning him to the character we all loved. The real (read "not n52") Dick would give a city that doesnt trust masks a reason to trust him.

And as for a rather out there idea that I'd love to air on the boards:

What if steph and cass were introduced to the n52 as nightwing characters. Steph could remind dick how to be fun, and cass could play something of a counterpoint to the cheerfulness of dick and steph. Having the two of them in the book would give nightwing a meaningful supporting cast.

Huh. These days I'm rather cool on the return of Steph and Cass, but the idea of making a Nightwing Family of characters is rather appealing. Nice idea!

I figure here's a good place to ask this. Are there any stories (worth reading) with Dick in the Justice League during his Batman stint?
