They only did this for "Remembering Remender."
Would rather have seen Gillen's run get a tribute like this.
It was a great run, but IMO the first two arcs ('The Apocalypse Solution' and 'Deathlok Nation') were the strongest. From there it lost some steam. The whole 'Dark Angel Saga' was pretty good, but the AoA stuff to me wasn't all that great. 'Final Execution' had a strong premise but kind of fizzed out towards the end. Overall it was enjoyable, though, I guess.
Now I'm excited about Sam Humphries' take on the new oddball cast of UXF, while Hopeless' Cable and X-Force really feels like old school X-Force to me. So I'm happy with where X-Force is currently.![]()
Fantastic run that would have been better if Remender was allowed as many issues has he originally thought and planned for. Going to miss it.
Personally felt it peaked on The Apocalypse Solution and Dark Angel Saga, fizzled afterwords but all-together a great run.
Found the final issue and final twist in particular disappointing though.
I guess his run did get cut shorter than what he anticipated. To bad I'm sure I would have loved his Deadpool arc. Hope he has a chance to get to it sometime in the future.

"No, I just always look good" -Psylocke, X-Women #1
A truly excellent series that will be sorely missed.
This, along with Uncanny X-Men Vol. 2, in my opinion, represents the best the X-books have been in the last two decades.

On topic, I've really enjoyed this book. It had a few slow moments and the ending was disappointing, but the Dark Angel Saga, The Apocalypse Solution, Deathlok Nation and the early parts of Final Execution (including the dystopian future) were great.
I enjoy these retrospectives with creators who brought a sense of epic, longform storytelling to their runs. It is interesting to see which elements Remender kept fixed in his mind the entire time, and which presented themselves as opportunities along the way.
I believe the series is strong from front to back. I think a certain element of the fan community was so high on the thrill of the deep continuity touched within Dark Angel followed by the promise of an Excalibur redux that when Otherworld was moew obscure (and Fanto-focused) that the sheer nervous anticipation of every issue never quite recovered.
I hope in the next installment Remender discusses how he wound up being the only definitive writer of Psylocke pretty much ever.

I still think most of the Final Excecution arc was disappointing, to say the least, but I will always cherish every arc that came before.![]()
