Grown-up Franklin would be great if he would just stop dying/going crazy on her. DoFP Franklin was non-powered up until he died (ahh, Claremont), but a more moderately powered Franklin rather than the god-child we see in most future storylines would be ideal IMO. Maybe something like Freedom Ring's power radius where he can warp reality, but only within like 10-20 feet or so? I dunno.
I was kind of feeling the love for Rachel and Nightcrawler as a couple while Claremont hinted at it. That could still be a sweet pairing.
Alternatively, I want Rachel to stay nominally single and go on (SUB-textually!!! That's half the fun!) lesbian polyamorous adventures with her BFF Shadowcat and her BFF Illyana.
