I ask again how legit his feat of surviving Galactus exploding is? Since if it's legit then GL has no way to harm him, even if you ignore the phasing.

Did we ever determine if Doom stopped Surfer by cutting him off from the board, or cutting of the board's link to Surfer?

Because if it's just physical, GL can definitely remove Surfer from board, and then KO him for a 10. Because Surfer was definitely KOed twice.

Regardless, Doom required prep and a specific energy pulse to do that.

Surfer is quicker on the draw, he just zooms in and absorbs Hal and the ring into his board
Hal shows nice feats in the GL movie....pity it flopped :(....I wish it was wrote better and had a better casting.....but anyways Hal is very, very versatile in his movie, Hal has good travel speed feats but he's not invincible, he is not really so durable and he does take serious damage. Kilowag hurt him, he hurt himself and ruptured his shielding when he grazed his shoulder against an asteroid while running from Parallax, Hal was hurt after getting knocked against a car, spacehitler hurt him in training etc Hals reaction time never shows anything above baseline human.
The Silver Surfer was much weaker than his comicbook counterpart but still had a ton of tricks, his reaction time is faster than Hal's, Surfer shows matter and energy manipulation, he shuts down all electricity, heals Sue from near death, had force blasts that tore apart massive chunks of rock, was making it snow in Egypt, turning the sea of Japan to glass, beating the CloudGalactus a planet eating CGI entity and Surfer can phase through things

It's a bit of both. Cutting Surfer off from his board will make him powerless. It won't, however, remove his link from it. In order to severe Surfer's link to the board, you'd need a tachyon pulse, a very specific type of energy.

I don't think knocking Surfer off his board will be easy. After Doom stole it, the Thing tried and failed in knocking him off of it. Johnny Storm, acting as a composite for the entire Fantastic Four team, couldn't even do it without frying Doom's tachyon device. Then there's all the times the Surfer flew around at tremendous speeds without losing so much as his balance. And even if the threat of being knocked off presented itself, Surfer would just phase through it.

Green Lantern puts on a nice, dazzling show. But he's not winning this. The Silver Surfer is too much for him to handle, let alone entertain.
