Haven't read Spider-Man since Back in Black so why should I turn to SSM?

I'm A Spider-man Fan At Heart and really am in a way interested in the upcoming superior spider-man series unfortunately my pull list does have it's limits so i was wondering if anyone could either tell me what comic i should drop to make room for it or if you don't think any of them are really worth kicking to the curb then hype it up because i want to read spider-man like i used to but too many new comics are coming out and i need some reassurance on this one

Its hard to make that judgement without know your likes and what you expect/want out of a SM title.

Well it seems like a good comic. The second printing of ASM 698 should be available in stores, so it's not too expensive to see if the first issue intrigues you.

The total cost of the Dying Wish arc, which leads directly into Superior Spider-Man, is twenty bucks if you're paying cover price, with Amazing Spider-Man #698-700, and Avenging Spider-Man #16.1.

I second this. SSM is not what you want. Scarlet Spider is the best book Marvel is putting out these days.

I read consistently from the michelenie/bagley era til OMD and after reading 698-700, I am HYPED for superior spider man and the potential for the stories to follow. Just enjoy the ride and keep an open mind to *all* of the possibilities

how would you know without having read SSM#1 or being inside the OP's mind?

OP: Pick up the issue in your local shop and flip through it real quick. If it looks appealing, spend the $4. Take it home, read it and make up your mind. If you dont like it, you are only out $4 and if you do like it, youve begun down the long road of collecting once again.

Why should you read Superior Spider-Man? Well, if you like the preview pages, you should read the first issue. And if you like the first issue, you should read the second. And if you like the second, etc., etc.

Your tastes are your own, and you don't need the justification of the internet hive-mind. (Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to watch Spider-Man 3, the best Spider-Man movie.)
