Legion isn't hard to follow, it just currently isn't worth following.

Eh. It's getting better. Especially with Giffen about to work his magic.

I still whoop when Ultra Boy makes the scene.

Well, that still remains to be seen.

Although I am definitely looking forward to it.

I don't mind Legion at the moment, though it isn't anything spectacular. So any change will be interesting.

I agree. I don't think its a bad book either. Still look forward to it each month but its so unexciting even when something is happening that should feel threatening but just comes across as ho hum.

I saw the cartoon and really liked it. Unfortunately, the comics are nothing like that. If I buy the first three issues and still don't understand it, there is a huge problem. I've bought the first three issues three different relaunches and I still don't get it. I understand the concept, but the concept is much different in the comics -- or thats how it seems. I don't know the "rules" or the "planets" or the "characters". Then there are these "rookie" characters? WTF? How was that a good jumping on point?! It wasn't.
I don't even think writers know how to condense all of that history and make it clear in three issues.
If anything needed a reboot it was this book. It would draw in a lot of new readers, but it would also lose a lot of older readers. The problem is that the older readers are what is keeping this book alive.
Eventually all of the older readers will die of old age and this book will die with them. It isn't sad because I still don't understand it.
You are looking at the only comic book series that has continuity reaching back to the 1950s. It is a bit unrealistic to expect to have all the information about each character spoon-fed to you. So either you read it with an open mind and enjoy the plots (the way most of us did as kids when the Legion was already decades old), or you do some research online and get the whole picture.

We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.

that's part of the problem..writers tend to focus on characters they liked almost to the exclusion of no one else. That was why Paul never really used Tyroc he didn't like him. And you want the writer to focus on your favorite when its a team book a lot of the team needs to be highlighted...i guess they're focusing on the new members so you know what their personalities are. The older members are far more well established to past legion readers.

good news...some older readers have done most of the homework for you.

now you have a link to all the rich history of the legion...their maybe somethings you need to ask...but that link is about 90 percent what you need to know and understand.
