This is partly Hickman's fault. I understand that editorial was beginning to dictate the book's direction, and that Avengers + NA is an offer that can't be refused, but he still could have stuck around. We might have gotten Hickman at less-than-his-best if he did, sure. But that's still way better than Humphries at his best, apparently.

Same deal with Millar and Loeb. Millar fucks off after 24 issues for no good reason ("I only do 24 issues" isn't a good reason), then gets mad at Marvel for letting Loeb ruin his characters.

If the issue is, as you said, "still riddled with errors and problems and horrible dialogue.", why on earth do you care?

I enjoyed this issue enough, wasnt the best issue of Ultimates I've ever read but was ok. Iron Patriot was good, but another dodgy polictical guy for Cap to be against didnt really interest me.

Pardon my mis-spoken words. I won't mention your spelling mistake.

Because I payed the same price as everyone else. I should get the digital copy as well. Thanks for helpfully answering my inquiry, I really appreciate it.

well the ultimates have been recruting villains to be reformed for a while (hawkeye, punisher, perun and red wasp)

I don't have an issue with them recruiting a villain, my issue was with the seemingly completely contradictory status of Cassie in today's Ultimates and UCSM. I said this in the spidey thread that maybe I am reacting too harshly and I am going to re-read both issues.

As it stands, dude, it wasn't Cassie, despite her appearance. This one was Giant-Woman Operative Six, while we are lead to believe that Cassie is their leader (or Operative One).

It is Ultimate Nick Fury but disguised as a white guy that looks exactly like 616 Fury and going under the code name 616's Nick Fury's brother used to use when he was a bad guy.

I FREAKING LOVE IT!!! Best issue Humphries has done on the book.

I'm going to read the issues again, even if it isn't Cassie then it sure as heck looks like her. Even wearing the unique uniform we saw in earlier issues. At the very least it is a bad art error.

Giant Woman Operative 6 has darker hair than Cassie.

Regarding Ultimate Nick Fury: Is that a disguise? Or does that mean that Sam Fury has been a disguise from the start?

Nick Fury has had the 616 disguise for a while. He's just using it again.

See, this issue makes #18.1 just redundant and that issue clearly added nothing to the story, this is a good jumping point for new readers & leaves off with an intriguing hook for some, but for me it was just worrysome. The dialogue, the story, some plot elements, just make me ask "why?" or get myself worried he's going Loeb-route and just ignoring continuity and writing his own takes for the heck of it.

Why does Cassie have to stay as a Giant Woman for a few days so she can heal? What does the splash page of her being a giant, having America construct a giant nurturing room for her add to this story? That Ultimate Marvel is as silly as 616 that we get giant people their giant bedrooms? Cassie has had a poster of Ultimates since she had been growing up? So she's had an poster for max 2 years, maybe pushing to a 3rd year? How young is she? How did she become part of SHIELD?

Thor has for no explanation become a true God once again, not only can he summon up lightning (without any Hammer weapon nearby) and he can travel to different realms, such as the Underworld, again, there is no explanation why he stopped having his illusions and regained his godly powers, nothing, absolutely nothing.

Does anyone else feel Iron Man is incredibly powerful these days? His armor is like his 616 one and he can just do about anything with it, am i the only one who feels this way?

Now my biggest fear, the absolutely biggest fear is the upcoming Nick Fury story here, why? Nick Fury, Mark Millar's Nick Fury is a cunning manipulative son of a bitch murderer who gets what he wants, he leaves no traces of his past and just manipulates everyone, there is noway Monica Chang has found Nick Fury, if this is a properly written Nick Fury, then the Scorpio is some fake guy who has been given this disguise, so Monica Chang would do a mistake, and Captain America would have no option (as the president) but to replace her with someone more suitable, say the actual real Nick Fury.

I just refuse to believe Humphries is writing Nick Fury as this obvious villain.
