As a child, "FF" Mike Allred actually pretended to be Ant-Man and his first "comic book" crush was Medusa. Suffice it to say, the artist assured CBR of his commitment to his and Matt Fraction's new Marvel NOW! series.

Never a big Marvel fan but I'm getting these in TPB when they come out. Allred is fantastic and love the cast. Just wish they'd give something for Hank Pym to do - first Ant-Man/Giant-Man is my fave character too.
Wow. I don't know if I've ever read an artist just GUSHING about a book like that - and boy, does that count for a lot when the artist in question is Allred and the book in question is an offshoot of his favorite comic.

I feel like Allred wants to break into schoolboy giggles as he's being interviewed… and I have to go back and see how he makes Medusa's hair express her emotions.
Johnny Storm was dead; who is this resurrected Johnny Storm?
"Here, hold my Annihilus…" Johnny Storm, Fantastic Four #601
I only skimmed the article so I'm sorry if the answer was in there. This Ant-man is Scott lang, right? If so where the hell is Hank NOW?
This interview should have been filmed if only to see Allred's reactions.
So much passion coming from him and its showing beautifully through the series. 2 issues in and it is amazing.
Dangit. I guess I'm the only one who is disappointed that there was little explanation for the line-up besides "woo-hoo!"
I'm sure that's the truth in a lot of cases but I didn't find it inspiring, at all - especially due to choices of Medusa (who wasn't too fond of humanity, last I saw) and Miss Thing, who just seems weird and impractical. Her head will be like Bane's "venom" tubes.

I love Allred's work, so I naturally follow his stuff. And I know I will never be disappointed.
The team is weird, confusing, and crazy, same as original F4 was. I love it.
Say No to decompressed storytelling!
I'm very much looking forward to the collection of this book. Allred's art is just something special.

As an aside, I'm wondering how great a replacement Nick Dragotta would be if Allred needs a break.

Medusa was a no brainer to me because of her long association with the team, including being an actual member of the F4 proper. Her visual is something right up an artist like Allred's alley so it was a perfect fit.
My only ? was having Miss Thing & She-Hulk both on as their power sets are basically the same. In story it makes sense as Johnny just half-assed his pick but power-wise I'm not sure why Marvel went that way.
Schmitty's Evil Twin.
I guess the change in Johnny didn't stick after his "death."

I'm torn on buying this book. I love Allred, Medusa, She-Hulk and Ant-Man, but the Ms. Thing character is, well, stupid, and how could Johnny (or Reed) not ask Spiderman to fill in? The first issue didn't exactly blow me away, either. Also, Marvel has so many great books out right now, that even with dropping all the Spiderman titles (thanks to all that BS) the wallet doesn't have room for this. Like the Hawkeye series, hopefully the TPBs will be cheap on Amazon and I can catch up later.
But damn, Allred draws the hell out of Medusa. How great would an Allred-drawn Inhumans series be???
i like this book so much that i'm having trouble even talking about it, anymore. i don't want to jinx it. it's great to hear that Allred enjoys his work as much as i'm enjoying it!
