Cassie would either just be Giant-Woman or Giant-Woman Operative One.

And I can't believe it just occurred to me that the "secret connection" between Miles and Jessica that Miles keeps going on about is that she's Peter Parker and he's the replacement Spider-Man.
I didn't notice the Operative Six thing. I guess it wasn't her.

So Marquez made a mistake? How do they not notice this stuff?

It's not necessarily a mistake. But it would have been nice if the Giant-Woman in this issue was wearing one of the other uniforms instead of one so similar to Cassie.

He was out for about 2 seconds. Being forcefully slammed from that height should have done some serious damage to him. It's absurd the kind of damage he can take without a mark to show for it. I'm so tired of how easy Bendis is making everything for him.

Someone else told me on twitter that it wasn't Cassie.

    I'm glad it's not.

I actually really enjoyed this issue more than most other issues of USM volume 3. Even though Miles' internal monologue didn't directly address it, this issue and the previous issue did a great job of highlighting Spider-Woman's concerns about how Miles isn't ready to be a superhero.

My only gripe was the part where Giant Woman picked him up and slammed him down on the ground; I know that Spider-Man can take significantly more damage than a normal person, but that still came pretty close to breaking my suspension of disbelief.

As for the Cassie Lang thing, I'd like to point out that the Giant Woman Miles just beat up had brown hair, whereas Cassie is Blonde.

With colorists these days, she could have been dirty blonde.

Still, HOORAY FOR CASSIE BEING ALIVE IN SOME FORM!

That giant-woman's resemblance to Lang is too striking to be coincidental. All the other giant-women had the same generic appearance.

Yeah, I felt the same way. But she's never called Cassie in the issue, and the logic just makes no sense from a timeline perspective as far as I can see.

I definitely agree with you about the venom shock. I liked this issue a lot, but it was for everything BUT the action scenes. I loved the stuff with Miles's dad, especially. And even the comedy was stronger than it has been recently, especially Miles checking out Giant-Woman's Giant-Rack. And to be honest, it's always been the out-of-the-mask stuff that I'm way more interested in. The big problem for me has been that there's too much page space wasted on these bland action moments. If all the action is going to be "Miles takes a punch -> uses venom sting -> goes camouflage -> the end" then don't stretch it out to 6 pages. Just make it a page and get on with the good stuff.

Watching Miles fight has definitely made me miss the old days, when Bendis wrote some really great fight scenes. The one that really stands out for me is still Peter vs the Fake Spidey at the bank. It's a really simple scene, but it's one of Peter's best moments as Spidey in my opinion. Hell there's even been some really good ones more recently like USM #154 (I think it was 154) that had Black Cat vs Mysterio vs Spidey; that one excelled more because of Pichelli's mind-blowing layouts, but still, it was awesome. And Peter vs the Sinister Six in DoSM was great too. Maybe Bendis just can't figure out how to really use Miles's skill set in fights.
I like Ultimate Comics. - Read them with us!

I also buy: Captain America, Avengers, FF, New Avengers, X-Factor, among others

I agree though, the non-action scenes were the best. I loved the part where Miles is checking out her chest and the look on his face is priceless.

I enjoyed it! I did think it was odd to depict Miles on the cover being stranded in some desert when he was only in Nebraska. Not that it doesn't have some desert areas, but it's not like he was in the Sahara or anything.

I thoroughly enjoyed the issue. I was pleased with every page. Marquez' layouts of his panels are extraordinary, I really like how they work together in the action scenes. Miles' dad was a badass and Miles fell head over heals in lust. I can imagine him thinking 'Whoa. They're so round..' Very funny.

Just imagine the confusing transition when reading the DWF/UWS Hardcover collection.

As far as the Giant Woman thing goes, I'm pretty sure it wasn't Cassie, but another Giant Woman. As for GW Operative Six slamming Miles into the ground, I'm pretty sure her intent to was subdue, and not kill. I mean, sure it looked pretty devastating, but she knows this is Spider-Man so he can take a little more punishment than most people, maybe she pulled back a bit so as not to utterly decimate him. Just a thought. I agree though that I don't think Miles should appear to take that kind of hit without much damage. Decent issue, but I agree with the sentiment: glad this event is over! On to Venom Wars!!

Just a quick question: Have we ever seen Peter Parker extremely battle damaged? Like we've seen him with a torn costume and maybe a bloody nose here and there, but have we ever seen him completely almost near death other than in death of Spider-Man? Maybe the Spider-Men can just take a hit.
