Thane Ector was my favorite one and done. I always thought that there was more that could be done with Nefaria who usually has one awesome storyline every 15 years.

I would like to see former Avenger Sandman explored as a major bad guy. Is he the only Avengers to flip back to the bad side?

Nebula is pretty cool, as well as the Scarlet Centurion.

Proctor and the Gatherers. Could be the Avengers version of the JLA's Syndicate.

All great suggestions, and two of them I was about to make myself (Thane Ector and the Gatherers).

Well, to contribute a bit more to the conversation, I'd like to add Master Pandemonium. Though he was explored in a kind of corny way by Englehart, I always thought he had the potential to be really scary (Byrne's version of him was a little bit better). I mean "abode of demons" reeks with untapped potential.

The Tetrarchs of Entropy , they only appeared once but they were pretty powerful cosmic entity.

    The elements of doom

Klaw , with his powers , should really be an A-lister rather than a whipping boy for black panther.

Every now and again, Molecule Man becomes a truly terrifying force. I'd like to see more of that.

Also, Warren Traveler. Because magic in the MU is OP as hell, but magic-wielding bad guys are cool.

I think the Avengers need more telepathic foes. The X-Men have Sinister, the Shadow King, Dark Xavier, Cassandra Nova, the Goblyn Queen...and they can make for really compelling, psychological stories. but the Avengers haven't really been "hit where they live" that often, except by Loki.

Anyone know of any psychic foes the Avengers could claim exclusively as their own?

ikr? I absolutely love Thor, he's the second corniest f*cker in the MU.

(I say second because no one hams up a scene like Gasto...I mean Hercules!)

Nefaria, I can't believe a evil mob related Superman knock off could be over looked as a potential villain for Marvel's premier super team. Here's hoping that in 2013, Hickman or Remender bring him back to a one man team buster like he was originally meant to be.

    Or Psycho-Man?

    Both good picks.

Also whoever mentioned the Fomor...I'm with you. Loved them. Did they ever appear anywhere else other than those two issues in the 80s?

I also think the Fomor would make great villains for the Avengers. Though I guess they would make more sense as bad-guys for MI:13 (RIP).

I think the Gatherers were a fun idea that was never utilized to it's fullest.

Having a team of alternate reality Avengers really could have been so much more than what we got. Hell, I didn't even have a clue who most of the gatherers were. It would have been a whole lot funner if more of them were recognizable.
