Considering who he is, he could very well stay alive for awhile. Plus, he's Apex's boyfriend.....she'd killed him last. There is power in numbers and all that.

Anyways, I'm waiting for them to have a reason to actually fight each other because right now, I could see them all sitting together in peace and nothing happening when Arcade isn't popping in.
Going by the solicits, one of the teens will draw first blood in issue 6. They will be fight over some food supply.

Avengers Arena is one of the best books in the shops right now, it's seriously amazing.

Bearing in mind Hopless said the inspiration for the Braddock Academy came from watching Skins, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Apex wasn't influenced by that show's Effy Stonem (very high I.Q., very manipulative).

Boring as hell in seasons 3 and 4? Hope she dies quickly then. And anyone become's the Pandora for this show, then I turn on this book and burn stuff.
Still, seasons 1 and 2 of Skins were fantastic. 2 was the most depressing and weird thing I've seen. I still get sad when I listen to MGMT and weirded by Crystal Castles because of their influence on certain scenes.

Cammi is maybe the Effy. She says she doesn't care, and her acts at face value imply it. But she is more or less benevolent. She stopped Ryker killing herself, even though her concerns over the cyborg killing everyone were justified.

I've wanted to say this for a while. I love Kev Walker's art. I love the colouring. And most of all, I love how the noses look realistic and nice, not hideous. That makes the book on its own. They're not even slightly grotesque.

You're probably right, but I think it's a bit wonky in the pacing. That's all I'm saying. I didn't think this issue was terrible just a strange change of pace in only the second issue.

I think I see your point. The first issue was more about getting all of the pieces in place, while this one did virtually nothing to really deal with the plot focusing primarily on characterization.

Hi fellow Disassemblers, I posted this on the Britain Prevails thread after going to a signing for Kev Walker (absolute top bloke!) at my LCS. It's a cracking sketch of Kid Briton..........also emailed the letters page of AA and got a thanks back from Bill Rosemann which I thought was jolly nice!

I've heard both those sentences uttered, by the same person. Just not back to back.

Yeeeaaahhh I'd never want to disagree with me old mate Guest but on this occasion I have heard that 'younger lot' talking in such a manner. It irritates the Muspelheim out of me but it does happen. There are lasses in my office that say things like 'OMG', 'LOL' and 'I heart...(etc)' without any trace of sarcasm.

It's a sad, sad time for the English Language.

But an awesome one for comics!!!!

Great issue, on my favourite list and I hope all those fools who say 'THERE'S DEATH AND GORE IN EVERY ISSUE' realise there isn't.

It worked well this time, but I felt the lack of intensity keenly. Deathlocket is likely the most interesting new character, and of the old characters only Cammi really has any missing time to mine, which should be excellent. I think an overemphasis on the past could wreak pacing and not be sustainably interesting. Though if Hopeless continually provides origins of that calibre, I'm going to be pained when they start butchering each other.

On a podcast interview, Hopeless struggled to remember Red Raven. In hindsight, telling.
