Singer Confirms Jackman's Role as Wolverine in "X-Men: Days of Future Past"

Director Bryan Singer has confirmed that Hugh Jackman will reprise the role of Wolverine for the upcoming" X-Men: Days of Future Past," joining the returning Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan on the Fox sequel.

I have to be honest, I haven't kept up with news on this movie...I'm most surprised to find out that Brian Singer is directing again!

I liked 1 and 2, abhorred 3...and First Class was tied along with "Incredible Hulk" (the one with Norton) for me, just above Daredevil/Elektra.

Let's hope he still has it.

I wonder just how important the first class will be in this story, if at all.

They will play a much larger role than Stewart, McKellan and Jackman. Those three are there to sell the possible future timeline story and give it weight. Particularly if they do the pivotal iconic moment with Wolverine and a sentinel. But that just sells how dire things can become in the future if the First Class in their present don't do the right things to avert the future events. It's all laid out in the original comic which is the basis for this film.

He did an excellent job on X-Men and X-Men II. X-3 was Brett Ratner. So I have every confidence that Singer will do this one justice. If for no other reason than to show "Hah! You should have kept me on the first time".

I really do hope his time is limited. As much as I love Jackman as Logan, I find myself losing a bit of interest with him in this.

Well then, that is his mistake. Returns was a mis-step on his part. A single blemish on an otherwise successful career so far. An yes, I saw Mockingbird Lane. And I liked it. And I say that as a staunch fan of the original.

Cool, he's a great Wolverine and I am looking forward to the old and new casts interacting. I just hope they keep the amount of characters in the film to a manageable number.
