Because the others side effect is, we get so many "headlines" that people forget things faster.

As far as softness goes, you're absolutely wrong. Go talk to your elders and ask them what life was like back then. Technology has spoiled the hell out of Americans. People whine now when they break their poorly made phones.

The school and the theater were once considered safe havens. This is no longer the case. When you're no longer safe anywhere, the moral clarity of the culture is called into question.

Assuming this comment is a criticism of my comments, I can't be nostalgic about a period I didn't even grow up in.

Our modern era has many advantages over the one my grandparents grew up in, but moral clarity and toughness are not two of them.
