Sounds like the initial meeting between Scott and the 05 won't last very long. Seventeen characters on page? That's a lot of faces to juggle.

Im looking forward to this issue, since the setup is done, we can finaly get t what we need to, to move forward with this comic.

the idea really was too big for an opening that woulda made a huge impact like some others could do in 1 issue

I feel like not a lot of story is being told each issue. Nowhere near enough anyway. It's something I feel when reading Bendis books quite often, it's like other writers could have told the whole first 5 issue mini story arc in one or two issues.

Who knows, I probably just want to read it so badly that I'm judging prematurely.

And this is why I'm trade waiting.

I like Bendis, but he doesn't always read well monthly.

alot of older comics used to be done more in this fashion, its refreshing to see them setting stuff up storywise instead of just throwing it at you like alot of them do now(which is how you fit whole story arcs into 1 issue)

I'm curious how much more you expect him to cram into one issue?

    Issue #3:

    - Cyke and co set up base in the old Weapon X facility
    - flashback to 8 days earlier where Cyclops and Magneto bust Emma Frost out of an armed military convoy. Both Cyclops and Magneto's powers are shown to be on the fritz, resulting in a disasterous turn of events which leaves the convoy in flames. Magneto appears to kill a human (or two).
    - Emma is freed, revealed to have possibly lost her telepathy. She argues with Cyke.
    - Introduction to a new mutant who can mimic both the physical appearance and tone of another.
    - Cyclops laments possibly losing control over his optic blasts. Magneto tells him to own his mistakes and stop blaming the Phoenix, then seems to menace Cyke over the fact his powers too have weakened.
    - Magik appears and seems to have even greater power than before, contrary to what had happened to Cyclops, Emma, and Magneto. Touches on Colossus' whereabouts. Emma appears to tell them about a new mutant.
    - Extinction team fly there to recruit the new mutant, are met by the 05.

If you took pages away from the breakout, he'd be accused of writing another talking heads comic. If you had more action, possibly some of the dust up between the 05 and the current day Extinction Team, the moments of characterization between Cyclops and Magneto for example would suffer.

The problem here is that comics are too short, not that Bendis is telling his tale too slowly. ^^

He won't, he's in the upcoming New Avengers book by Hickman.

Looks like this issue is an improvement over the previous issue. First Bendis established the premise with the Jean Grey Institute. Then he put the Original Five front and center in the second issue. Then the third issue set up Cyclops. Now it's all coming together. It's a little choppy in terms of organization, but one of Bendis's talents is his ability to tie things together towards the end of an arc. I really look forward to seeing the overall reactions from the Original Five and how this affects Cyclops. We already know the O5 are going to stay in the present. It'll be interesting to see what leads them to this decision.
