I am sure more than a few are in fact uninformed opinions. Are you claiming every single one of them aren't? Most people have loved the story so far and yet the outcome hits and it's this irrational instahate. A simply bizarre reaction.

Maybe you should wait to judge until your opinion is a little more informed.

That's quite an uninformed opinion. You haven't read the issue, so you have no idea how valid the opinions on it are.
You should read a story before judging it. ;)

I know the outcome and 3/4s of the journey. All the negative reaction I have read have simply come from the outcome. I know because I saw it all before the entirety of the issue was leaked. I was there when the spoilers leaked and only the spoilers and maybe 1 or 2 pages. People were just these irrational hate monsters with only exposure to the outcome. When the reaction to the story arc so far is positive adoration, there is no dispute about that, and most people know only the outcome and get angry and upset. That tells me they aren't being rational. This is an irrational reaction. Let's wait until the issue is released before we pass final judgment on the story. So far it is amazing.

You really have no idea what it is until you've read the whole thing.

Some of us have. Are you saying that you're a better judge of the story than someone who's actually read it?

Knowing the outcome and 3/4s of the story. I see absolutely no reason to knee-jerk calling this story "bad" or "stupid" when these same people were loving the story up until they spoiled the outcome for themselves.

When did comics become so important to our lives as adults that changing the identity of a fictional being became so life changing?

Are we actually so invested in fictional stories that we no longer see what's clearly right and wrong anymore?

Some of the comments I'm reading here have me thinking its something else other comics we are discussing here.

Nothing Marvel nor Slott has done anything remotely bad enough to warrant death threats. It's sociopathic and should be condemned in the strongest terms.
Adults struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life when the answer is obvious to the smallest child: because it's not real. - Grant Morrison

You're saying it's amazing that there are many people who agree with your opinion... but also others who DON'T?

I am saying that most people loved the story until the outcome was spoiled. That the outcome is why people are upset, not because of the narrative. That tells me people are being irrational and not thinking about the story on its merits.

So you've read exactly the same amount of the story as the people who "irrationally" hate it, yet your opinion is somehow more valid since you like it?

    Wholeheartedly agreed.
But, this is still the internet.

A guy with a silly youtube video that 105 people saw could get a death threat. Someone could get offended of someone drawing a female character is a very lightly provocative pose.

All day, every day, people on the internet get messed up freaks using the anonymity of the computer in order to be the absolute worst, so it comes to no surprise that someone who writes a comic book as popular as Spider-man will get such bad messages, specially after a story that he himself admitted would "split the internet in half."

It is becoming readily apparent that you are not understanding my meaning. I am saying that many people have loved the story, these same people spoiled the outcome for themselves, then suddenly these same people hate the entire story. That's not logical, nor rational. There was only positive feedback so far until the outcome was released, as positive as anything can be these days. If you cannot understand the meaning I am trying to convey and continue to try to twist my words into something I don't mean, I simply cannot help you any longer and will view continued twisting of my words as malice and simply ignore you.

Has anyone said that death threats are ok or justified? Ok there was one guy, but I don't think anyone else is condoning sending a death threat. It's irresponsible, immature, and basically criminal.
