It really is a brilliant satire of racism in movies, using every racist, homophobic, mental retardation, and sexist jokes ever invented by man, and making new ones, too. It was the crowning achievement of Mel Brooks' movie accomplishments, and that is saying a lot considering all the absolutely fantastic satirical films he made.
