    Default Happy!, #3

Kind of a shame they couldn't get the release schedule right so that the last issue would come out before Christmas.

Oh, yes - that preview is very snappy!
I will buy the next issue of HAPPY!

Read the issue. Loving it! It's not a Morrison mind twisty story, but I it really seems like Morrison might give this story a heartwarming happy ending.

That said, the flashback and the end twist were very confusing. First, who exactly IS Mr. Blue? Is he just some random mobster who wants the password from the same man who happened to deny being a dirty cop? Also, is Blue funding the Santa to ummm...take the children on television? I'm sure it will be clear in the next issue, but I might have missed a detail in the previous issues.

Morrison is generally known for giving his stories happy endings, so I think there's a good chance Happy! will probably have one, too.

Mr. Blue is a kingpin-like figure who appears to be behind some (Maybe all?) of the organized crime in New York. His men destroyed Nick's marriage and cost Nick his job. And now he's after the Fratelli family fortune, which can be obtained through the use of a secret password that was known only by the youngest brother. That brother is now dead, but got revenge by claiming he told Nick the password. Hence the bounty. And yes, Mr. Blue also seems to be behind some kind of secret pedophile TV network that features the bad Santa. So he's pretty much behind everything.

I had to catch up on a month's worth of comics but was pretty pleased with this issue. I'm psyched to see what Nick's going to do in the future issues given what he learned in issue 3.

the story is fucking depressing. I seriously hope that Morrison will give it a happy end.
