It might have been because his personality was meant to mirror his power. The unflappable "portrait of synchronicity". I mean, I get that people liked that there was a middle class, Black teen superhero. However, I actually thought Joto from the '96 Teen Titans and Prodigy from Academy X both did it in a way where it was easier to get to know the character.
Well, Synch had the same team position as Jean Grey. A very mellow support personality character.

For all intents an perposes he lacked much of his team mates hang-ups because he is suppose to be a stablizing force. He has is moments especially in the 2nd half of the second Emplate arch. But he is definatly the "Support Character" in that teams MMO.

It is a necessary spot, it just doesnt stand out compared to the Jubilee/M rivalry, or the Chamber angst, Skin wise cracks, or Husk's ambition.

    Monet and Chamber look fabulous.

I miss Banshee, but only when he's hairy.

Haha, you and Siryn both. ;D Although I seem to recall reading that Siryn's pretty much accepted it by now.

Part of his appeal was that he was a nice guy who always tried to do the right thing, no matter how much it cost him. It was nice to see a teen that wasn't all "teen romance and angst." Synch will always be one of my favorites, due to his unerring moral compass and nice guy attitude.

    And what Likewater said, above.

I have holes in my collection, so I don't think I have that second Emplate arc. I'll have to look for that.
