Even movie 1 Smith showed pretty blatant super speed punches and some nice strength too. I'm going with him.
A woman can move a lot faster with her skirt up than a man can with his pants down.
Wow, you created a complete 10,000/10,000 curbstomp for Smith (unintentionally I'm sure). Bane has literally no chance of even breaking Smith's sunglasses. That's how fast movie 1 Smith is.
Smith doesn't even need to touch Bane, he'll just shoot him.
It's complete h2h and fists only. I forgot to put that in the OP.
Strength: Bane starts to demolish concrete pillars after multiple punches in a semi-berzerk state. Agent Smith demolishes concrete walls and pillars with single blows. Agent Smith also breaks walls by punching people into them when said people are lying on top of him on the floor. i.e. Agent Smith's jabs are already far stronger than Bane's best shots.
Advantage: Agent Smith.
Mobility: Bane displays no special leaping capability. Agent Smith leaps across buildings.
Advantage: Agent Smith
Speed: Many real world humans can fight, move and react at speeds considerably faster than Bane. Agent Smith is a bullet timer.
Advantage: Agent Smith
Damage Soak: Bane can tank hits from a guy who one shots normal people, but has a glaring weakness in his relatively vulnerable mask. It's not really as glaring a flaw as some people say imo, given that it tanked a lot of shots before breaking, but it's there nonetheless. Agent Smith tanks shots from a guy who can tear through steel handcuffs after suffering extensive torture.
Advantage: Agent Smith
Skill: Agent Smith displays some degree of martial skill, even if some experts on the forum here can tell some glaring flaws. Bane is basically a brawler.
Advantage: Agent Smith

This is fully intentional, choreography-wise. They wanted to portray the Agents as having very blunt, mechanical fighting styles and relying on their superhuman abilities over creativity. It makes sense that that'd lead to being pretty good but not great, as martial arts skill goes.

A Pack of Wolves.
An Inconvenience of Heroes.
I would rather listen to the dialogue between these to than any kind of physical confrontation (in which Smith would pound Banes face in, by the way). <_<
I mean, seriously, it'd be an awesome amount of gibberish.
maybe if you handicapped Agent Smith badly by removing his 50 caliber pistol, equalizing speed, strength, and durability with Bane's you'd have a decent fight. of course, if you have to stack the odds that heavily to give Bane a chance at winning...
Smith: "Miiiiiiiiiiiiister Dorrance. Surprised to see me?"
Bane: "Nawt reely, Ai have absholutely no idea who yew arrgh."
Smith: "What you lack, Mister Dorrance is a purpose."
Bane: "Ai havve a purposhe: Ai ahm going to break Goffam city intew exshactly whass I hate, leave it that way for mosht of ah yeer, then newk it... All out of shome saort of vage petty venganche againsht oune mahn."
Smith: "You see Mister Dorrance-"
Bane: "Whai dew youhkeep calling me thash? I go bai Baen."
Smith: "You see Mister Dorrance, it is purpose that created us."
Smith 2: "Purpose that connects us."
Smith 3: "Purpose that pulls us."
Smith 4: "That guides us."
Smith 5: "That drives us."
Smith 6: "It is purpose that defines us."
Smith 7: "Purpose that binds us."
Bane: "Whash tha bluddy ell is all thish abous?"
Smith: "We are here because of you, Mister Dorrance. We’re here to take from you what you tried to take from us: Purpose."
Bane: "Ai don't havshe yer bluddy Dolphin!"
A Flock of Sheep.
A Pack of Wolves.
An Inconvenience of Heroes.
Matrix Agents are bullet timers.
Smith wins, fatality.
Smith pretty much dominated in his fights in the first movie, only beaten thanks to things that unexpectedly happens, such as a train or Neo gaining his powers.
Bane's tough but Smith is just...Well, tougher.

For whatever it's worth to you, Bane clearly deeply believed in Ra's Al Ghul's ideology since he was willing to literally go up in flames for it. He just felt Batman deserved a special punishment because he'd betrayed everything Bane believed in.
And you're right, Gotham City became exactly what he hated. Ruled by lawlessness and chaos and blippity bloppity. Which was the point. He wanted to destroy order to demonstrate that the people of Gotham lacked the force of will to restore it. They had, after all, allowed the old form of order to be maintained through corporate greed, (in his mind) oppression, etc.
I thought his motivations were complex, but clear.
Okay...Now that I watched the fight again, Smith didn't give a damn about the train since he was willing to take Neo with him since he can't...Well, die.
Neo just happens to avoid this mere moments before the train got there.
And forget what I said bout Smith being tougher than Bane...He could outright maul Bane to death rather easily.

Huh. Last time I checked, Agents were bullet timers only as an auto-defence against bullets. Sort of like a program that kicks in and boosts their speed in those scenarios.
Smith doesn't need it to murder Bane to death, but it doesn't seem like he can bullet time normally.
