Clearly: Reed Richards says so, and he's a hell of a lot smarter than we are (being fictional and all), ergo, it's reasonable, acceptable and, moreover, the proper response to such a shoddy accusation.

As with many of these threads, Reed and Doom have been kind of friends for years now, so they wouldn't really screw with each other. Doom is best friends with Reed's daughter, and has willingly worked with Reed for quite some time, and, last seen, was still completely fine with him, meaning its a prexisting duo. Also meaning, since they're used to working with each other, it makes things even worse, with prep.
