Default "Mask of the Red Panda" Coming to Comixology in 2013

Decoder Ring Theatre has been airing the podcast super hero audio drama "The Red Panda Adventures" since 2005. The series not only evokes the Old Time Radio series of the past, but also those Golden Age pulp magazines and comic books. Next year, "Canada's Grestest Super Hero" finally makes his comic debut.

Being published digitally via Comixology by MonkeyBrain Comics, "Mask of the Red Panda" will be a three-issue miniseries, featuring an all-new story written by Red Panda creator Gregg Taylor, with art by Dean Kotz. Each issue is set to be 32 pages and priced at $0.99. The first issue should hit in late-February 2013. Here's the first preview image featuring the Red Panda's sidekick, the Flying Squirrel.

To date, the Red Panda and Flying Squirrel have appeared in 88 episodes of "Red Panda Adventures" (new episodes the first of every month) and three "Tales of the Red Panda" pulp-style novels (with a fourth coming soon), all written by Gregg Taylor.

Very much looking forward to this. The news of a fourth pulp-style novel is a pleasant surprise too, because I wasn't sure if Taylor was still looking to use that method to tell the stories of his character. Fun stuff.

Yep. Allegedly he has two novels waiting on covers - the fourth Red Panda book, "The Pyramid of Peril," and "Finn's Golem," based on his "ID0" sci-fi/detective story. Both should be out in the next few months.

New information leaked by Gregg Taylor - the comic story will be set in 1934, around the middle of season 2 (during the classic "Yes, Boss" era of the show), sometime after episode 17 (Merlin's Tomb). That won't mean much to non-listeners, but it may give possible plot hints to devotees of the series.

I'll give this a try. I'm a big fan of what MonkeyBrain has been doing so far. Seems interesting.
