Silver Surfer came across as goofy sometimes, though.
I guess for some of us it was a little jarring. We went into it expecting the Danny from Immortal Iron Fist I suppose and were let down because of it. Unreasonable expectations perhaps on our part.

I wonder how Remender would write Iron Fist, if he was to take on the task. I would love to see an X-force style Iron Fist book. With art by Jerome Opena.

not unreasonable. but i think some of the confusion is due to Fraction sharing writing responsibilities with Brubaker. i'm guessing that the stuff you liked about Immortal Iron Fist was Brubaker's stuff. Fraction provided the quirk (it's actually easy to spot if you compare some of his dialogue in Defenders to Immortal Iron Fist or Clint in 'Hawkeye').

That must've been it. I mean, comparing Bru's Prince of Orphans in Secret Avengers to Fraction's in Defenders is like comparing apples and oranges.

Remender had a good grasp on Cage. Iron Fist's dialogue lacked personality i found. He read like Shang-Chi, which isn't a bad thing necessarily, just didn't feel right.

The ending to that issue was priceless though. Poor Ant-Man.

I think you hid the nail right on the head. Prince and I came to the same conclusion in the Iron Fist appreciation page. Danny in Immortal was a little goofy but in Defenders Fraction seemed to up that aspect of Danny's personality.
