You didn't like Amy? I loved her. Easily my favourite companion (I haven't seen the pre-2005 series though). I've never been a fan of the specials, except Christmas Carol which is one of my favourite episodes of the series.

It's not so much that I don't like her, she was okay, but I've only ever liked Matt Smith's Doctor without her. I dunno. Steven Moffat wasn't the revelation I was expecting him to be when he was announced as the new show runner. That probably accounts for my waning interest. I've not seen the classic stuff either, but I like Donna and Martha best. Rory was good too. River Song is the worst.
