Doubtful about a Supergirl movie but I'd love to see if they do the destruction of Krypton again we see just a taste of her possibility.

Definitely at least a supporting role. Hell I'd watch a live action adaptation of this in a heart beat. Flash fact.

That's just it: I don't really want to see a new Supergirl movie. I'm perfectly content with the original. I can't see how a remake can improve on that portrayal of Kara, save offering more modern special effects.
It's kinda like how I've no desire to see a new Wonder Woman live action production. Lynda IS Wonder Woman in my head. She nailed it.
I felt no need to update the Burton Batman films or Chris Reeves Superman either.
I suppose I've no real desire for continuous cinematic adventures of comic book characters. Once or twice is enough that I'm allowed a 'real world' vision of the character to colour my reading of thier stories. I couldn't care either way if they're never revisited again on screen though.
Freedom is the ability to live without fear of persecution. Nothing more, and certainly nothing less.
Has a movie ever launched a successful spin-off? Because I'd say Supergirl has a better shot of being made part of a Superman movie sequel with any Supergirl films coming from that rather than being a solo star right off. Sort of like if a Robin or Batgirl film series had been spun off from a successful Batman & Robin in some parallel world.
I actually created an account just because the idiocy of this comment warrants a response.
Let me get this straight, "smart" to you means they should make family movies, so since the term "family movies" are commonly associated with the likes of "Pirates of the Caribbean," I take it you mean blockbusters. You know, movies that generates copious amounts of money and don't have substance. How can they have substance, after all, since they're meant for the whole family and so the level of understanding and appreciation ranges from the 6-year-old who wets the bed to the old senile grandpa who also wets the bed. You were probably a huge fan of "Superman Returns" right? It involved no thinking or cinematic integrity and was that family movie you like so much. Keep in mind that "Avengers" is excellent because it relies on Robert Downy Jr.'s Iron Man, whose movie was a smart, well-written approach to a comic book character who does not have fantastic powers like Superman. This makes Superman a more difficult character to bring onto the big screen. Batman, whoever, is easier to make, and was recently an incredible success. Back to "Avengers," your Marvel family movie... Have you seen "Thor?" Do you really want Superman to be handled like that? There's a family movie about a god from the comics which has no substance and is painful to watch in comparison to "Iron Man."
How does DC not appreciate the greatness of their characters? If anything, you should say they absolutely appreciate their greatness by having a master director/producer like Christopher Nolan handle the movies. They will not let their movies go down the shitter like Bryan Singer's remake. Nolan's Batman is Batman at his full potential. They even show him training in the Himalayas under Ra's al Ghul. How is that not the Batman from Detective Comics? Are you seriously going to say Heath Ledger's Joker was not the insane, maniacal Joker who we've all come to know? Zack Snyder is being trusted with Superman. The guy made "Watchmen," arguably one of the best superhero movies of all time and it still makes most top ten comic book movie lists. "Man of Steel" is going to show Superman being effected by real-life physics like sonic booms. It's Superman as if he was actually in the real world, which is what the point of a life-action movie is supposed to do and is incredibly difficult when dealing with comic books. Sure, you could go the Singer route, and sheepishly continue the outdated Donner movies without even trying to come up with a new approach. Look where that gets you.
So you want to see something along the lines of Singer's awful attempt to lift Superman from the comics or maybe Batman's nipples from Batman and Robin? How does DC apologize? By trying their very best to make them real? Last time I checked, that amazing attempt led to "The Dark Knight," a movie my kids' kids will watch as a masterpiece in comic cinema.
Don't bother responding. You're a troll who wants to watch actors in awkward spandex without any substance. FYI: The comic characters of the Golden Age had costumes based on the strongmen of circuses and performers of their day. If you want to live in the past, go for it. I'm content with the New 52 and the modernization of characters who will forever evolve with evolving American culture.
I think there's a lot of danger praising or bashing a movie unseen. Some great movies don't sell tickets and some real trash gets sequel after sequel. I hope its a good movie I will enjoy and also one that appeals to the general public so it does get those calls for sequels. I want realism and I want the fantastic. Sometimes you only get a glimpse of one or the other.
