New Avengers (2013): News And Speculation

This is the book I am most looking forward to and by a long shot. Some all time favorite characters together on the same "team" and by two of the industry's finest creators. Can not wait for this one to hit. That Epting variant is stunning. The Jock covers are equally awesome.
I really enjoyed Avengers #1 which makes the wait for this even more difficult.

It's the Captain Marvel Star. Whether or not that's got to do with Carol or any of the other Captains remains to be seen.

I've been hyped for this book, but the preview pages in the OP amongst other things have me less excited -- but it's still one of my top five books for MarvelNOW.

True. We don't know how Stephen plays into all this just yet. The good Doctor definitely adds a different flavor to the book and I am interested to see how Hickman uses sorcery to compliment and fill the spaces between all the tech and innovation the other characters bring.

I think that Cap is going to reform the Illuminati to deal with the vision he had in Avengers #1. They'll solve it and they'll disband. However the others will keep it going and possibly steal his gem.

I'd interpret the fallen shield to mean that Cap walks out -- or is forced out. Hickman has said only one member (probably Tony) would be in both Avengers and NA)

one for news and speculation
worked well for pre-release

one for reactions
will work for post-release

Unless someone already went and bumped that one from where it was languishing, I doubt the mods will make note of it

I doubt they would involve Cap until they needed the Infinity Gems.
