Dangit, Bendis brought a tear to my eye with this scene, just like he did in the scene with Ultimate Universe Aunt May and Peter Parker of 616. When you've permanently lost someone you can't help wonder "what if" and you sometimes forget what it felt like in the beginning. Bendis has captured both things so perfectly for me. Please continue being the Bendis that writes Ultimate Spider-Man and not the one that wrote Avengers.
Talk about showing late to the party. It seems like CBR is getting less and less exclusive content from Marvel.
I'm really diggin this book so far. Maybe "this time" will be the time I actually become a fan of Bendis.
From the preview I only see teen!Cyclops coming face to face with his present counterpart lol.
In dog days, all we need is Frost.
Before anyone states it, Cyclops is NOT lusting after teen jean, all the memories of attraction, infatiuation, admiration, respect and love are all just blasting in to cyclops's mind. he is overwelmed to say the least. CANT WAIT FOR THIS ISSUE!
i have to admit i didn't like the concept of this book originally, but bendis has done it again...i am utterly & completely riveted
The art is gorgeous, and so are the sentiments. I like the stream of consciousness way Cyke runs through who could be doing this to him. I like him calling her Jeannie. And I like her burgeoning use of TP. I have nothing against Bendis, and the return of Jean was exciting, but I think the overall concept and the interactions between everyone is really selling me on the book. I'm looking forward to seeing what the mission overall will be -- beyond saving current-day Hank -- once these first few issues are over. I'll be pissed if we're looking at another X-Man type thing, where we spent 15 issues or so with him meeting all of the key players in the 616 universe.
I am really liking this story so far, but I wish it was just a miniseries. I mean this is going to get old and pointless if it goes on much longer. Don't get me wrong I am loving the concept, story and artwork. But it seems like a weird gimmick to be an ongoing. I'm not the only one right?
But is it perverted though? You grow up with the love of your life, you marry her/him, have a full life together, s/he later dies, and then, for some strange reason, the teenage version shows up via "time travel". How conflicted would YOU be in all this? Besides, isn't Jean 18 years old when the time travel trip occurs?
It's been well established that Cyclops doesn't give a crap about Jean, and lost interest in her well before she died, which by the way he was pretty much responsible for, both times. He's just being an angsty emo whiner and making it all about himself again, because that's all he ever does.
the story I'm actually enjoying but the art, oh my god its like a nerdgasm every time I see those badass bold colors, I really like the way Gracia colors
