I enjoyed Issue 1, but the preview has turned me off, but I have already pre-ordered it, so after issue 2, I'll see whether or not to carry this on. Hopefully it keeps me hooked, as Issue 1 did.

I would hope that this issue doesn't have something that left me cringing like that flashback in the first issue. (The first issue was great, except for that particular flashback.)

Was it the content of the flashback or the way it was presented?

I didn't care much for it either but I think it was mostly because of the matter-of-fact presentation of it. Lacked any kind of artistry. Sometimes less is more.

Preview looks alright. Hope it grabs me more than the first ish.

The first issue is good. I also like how Marvel is making deferent from Brubaker's run.

Yeah, it's basically a 100% departure from Ed Brubaker's run, and I like it. I liked Brubaker's run too, but this is much more my flavor. Interesting that in the first issue we saw Steve's failure of a father, and now he's playing father to a lost little boy. I wonder where they're going to go with the story, it's very compelling.

The written piece at the end of issue #1 kind of made it seem like this is going to be a love letter to Kirby's Cap run from when he returned to Marvel and basically had total control over the book.

    I loved this.

It has all the Remender tropes.

    Mad sci-fi- check
    Determined, rugged hero- check
    Crazy, horrible monsters- check
    Lots of violence- check
Adults struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life when the answer is obvious to the smallest child: because it's not real. - Grant Morrison

The content itself. Seeing Steve's father brutally beat on his wife, to the point where said wife was bloodied up, was just a bit too uncomfortable to me.

Plus it seemed like Brubaker wanted to write Bucky as Captain America and not Steve. The story really declined after Marvel made him bring Steve back.

Rick Remender's dialogue is so hard to get through.

For those of you who say Cap doesn't kill, this issue is proof and Cannon, that he will do so when needed. I really like this, this is a return to the Cap of old, before he became mired in scandal, and made morally compromising decisions. I like this book and it speaks to me in volumes.
Check out the O.A.W. Report at www.majinoaw.blogspot.com. You want to see why I say the things I do or understand what's in my head... this is the place to go.

That's been known since every article Remender did about this run said it was going to be about.
There are four stages of matter. Solid. Liquid. Gas & Don't. It's science.
