Default Loki (Marvel 616) vs. Freddy Krueger

Freddy decides he'd like to mess with an Asgardian and eat his soul. He has one month of prep. Loki gets no prep and has standard equipment and powers (pre-Kid Loki). However Loki has access to all of his resources.

Is it still an arena fight? I mean, Freddy's got really good reality warping, but none of the warps seem on the level where they can really hurt Loki. Loki, OTOH, can still trivially ddump Freddy if he shows his ugly face. Freddy has no way to get back from that AFAIK, so you gotta give it to Loki.

No it is a fight as it would take place in a story in which Freddy and Loki are in the same dimension. Freddy has learned about Loki and wants to kill him/eat his soul. Loki has no idea who Freddy is or that he will be attacked, he's just doing his own thing as per his usual.

On the other hand, Loki is generally aware of and has an increasingly poor and antagonistic relationship with Nightmare, who is basically Freddy on superpowered crack. It's not as though he bops around without expectation of getting sometimes screwed with in this sort of way.

Loki's quite a bit above anything Freddy's dealt with.

I dunno... some of those teenagers were pretty darn barely above normal human baseline for their age groups. This could be a tough fight.
Fox Mr. Sinister (holding Rogue's chin): "So beautiful, yet so strong."

Fox Wolverine: "Well, I always did think I was kinda cute. Nice of you to mention it."

This hasn't been mentioned yet, the fight will occur in Loki's sleep right? If we're going by classic Freddy Krueger, he normally won't be seen unless you're unconscious. So if we assume Loki in this arena is alone, until he eventually falls asleep and faces Freddy... I'd give it to Freddy. Freddy can do anything he wants and is godlike in that realm. And as far as I know, Loki is powerless when inside of his own mind and asleep.

As for Freddy's one month of prep, I mean... I guess that'd be waiting for Loki to fall asleep? He doesn't even need any prep, he could turn Loki into an ant and step on him. He could turn Loki into a pile of sand and throw that sand into a volcano. Loki, especially unprepared, has no idea that this is anything other than a nightmare and is especially powerless to stop his demise I'd say.

As for somebody mentioning Freddy has reality warping and how it wouldn't hurt Loki. For one, Freddy in the real world has no powers, he's just a skilled killer with a bladed glove. But that's not his natural habitat, and I'd assume that's not the Freddy we're talking about. Freddy is a demonic powered spirit who lives in dreams, and in that context this does look like a legendary stomp victory for Freddy.

Loki is a vastly powerful magician who can throw magical effects onto people while all of a bodiless astral spirit/consciousness. Being in a dream seems like no particular impairment to doing Freddy up with magic thereby.

Why do I have a mental image of Freddy pulling a Hulk on Loki?

Because you have no particular concept of Loki's capacity?

This goes to Loki, he should be able to kick Freddy's ass while he's asleep, you guys are giving Freddy way too much credit.
