I'm going to have to disagree there. Cloverfield is far from realistic in spots.

This movie looks very 50/50 to me. It could be great or it could be utter crap.

At least it dosen't have the 100% guarentee of being crap by having jamie foxx in it.

Different strokes I guess, I've yet to be disappointed by his work.

Nowhere has GdT stated that this is supposed to be a "fun" movie. It will still be fun, though. This is a movie made by a guy who loves kaiju for people who love kaiju. Or as he put it, "I wanted to make a movie for fans, but I didn't want to [make a fan movie," i.e. something homemade, cheap-looking, etc.

It's as realistic as reality television.

Yes! Finally a good modern American giant monster movie (in theory).

Oh yeah, Elba's declaration in the trailer pitched a serious tone, I'm just thinking Giant Robots/Monsters kind of fun. Let's hope it's not humorless.

Looks amazing. I love how realistic they can make things. Those monsters and robots look like they exists within the frame. Once again...amazing!

Only thing I didn't like was the Glados voice. I didn't like that it wasn't altered a bit from Glados, it just came off as a bit of nerd pandering.
maybe they just liked the voice and thought it fit??
