    It's just not like him.

I'm well aware of what he said - I quoted it myself. My point was that it was ONE of the reasons; it was not the only reason. He said, first and foremost, that her experience in SHIELD makes her qualified to be a leader.
So you admit that he made that relation? I am not concerned how much he made that relation, just that he did. I know it was ONE reason. That's been my point all along, and you've been arguing it.

I honestly don't know if you're reading his post, because you keep asking questions that are answered by it. Her motherly instincts are protection. He lays it right out there - you ever try to get in between a mother and her baby? Well, now all of global security is her baby. Mess with that at your peril. I really don't know how he could be any more clear cut than that. But whatever, if you you don't understand it, then I see no reason to keep going in circles with this.
In my previous post, I quoted the very text you just highlighted. Yes I did read it.

You keep saying I don't understand but it was you getting confused and then was asking me questions about it. You try to pass it off as me misunderstanding when it is you asking the questions with me simply answering them. So if we're going round in circles, it's because you don't like my answers. You're the one initiating this entire debate, even now by still giving me questions to answer. And you can stop that whenever you like.

Hopefully this is clear enough for you.

My first point: It's not like Ultimate Cap to worry about monetary value. Humphries' entire idea of how Ultimate Cap should be portrayed is just.. wrong.

My second point: Running Shield holds no comparison to looking after a baby. It's a ridiculous and very trivial statement, regardless if whether he said other things in addition to that.

Cap's concern with monetary value is as irrelevant to what Humphries said as almost anything. It was a metaphor.

The second point of his was weaker but he's just saying that Monica is extremely protective of whatever she is put in charge of. She takes responsibility incredibly seriously.

    They both work.

I agree. In fact, there isn't anything about Ult. Cap's character that relates to a billion dollars. ..OK, I can see how that can be argued in a number of different ways, but I just didn't like his analogy of Cap. He clearly misunderstands the character. Jets are Cap's thing! almost seemed like he was cleverly taking the p**s. His actual analogy was contradictory to what Ultimate Captain America REALLY stands for.

I understand where he's coming from. But it trivialises the responsibility of running Shield. You're right it was weak. That's why I pointed it out. And then I got bombarded with questions about why I don't like the very fact that he related Shield to a child. I'm sure I'm not the only one who dislikes the answer he gave. There are lots of tedious little things about it.

Not only that, but just because Monica cares deeply for her child, does not automatically mean she'll have the same feelings towards running Shield.

(However, I'm not saying Monica can't handle the job. I just thought it was a terrible, terrible comparison to make. Everyone has their own opinion though).

He was talking about the act of writing Captain America, or for that matter any other Marvel character. He used the analogy because flying an expensive jet to do stunts is an incredible risk, since you have to do crazy feats and impress the audience without destroying the vehicle in the process. He's right, because there's so much bitching over every perceived misstep he's made.
