--Count Nefaria and his henchmen are eventually overpowered by The X-men......Roy Thomas seems to put less emphasis on the X-Men being mutants than Stan Lee did--they seem more like any other superpowered team under Thomas while Lee placed huge relevance on the teens being mutants.

--Roy Thomas has taken a team who under Stan Lee remained mostly within the environs of New York State and transformed them into relative globetrotters-one of the more noticable changes under his scripts....Kukulcan(El Tigre transformed) is a nut-job but every comic needs one every now and then......Jean bumps into Calvin Rankin in Metro College, paving the way for the return of The Mimic.

--The Mimic returns and the team gains a new member,a memorable event.....But he never truely gels with the team and the end beckons.....Calvin is a great character but his power makes him difficult to use as it renders the rest of the team a bit surplus to requirements......Writing his powerset long term would have been challenging......The team tackles The Puppet Master and Defender.....Features a brief cameo by Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch as Xavier asks them to join the team(they knock him back).....Jean re-designs the team's costumes.
