    Default Star Wars, #1

This is Star Wars as you remember it... and as you have never seen it before! We're taking you back to those heady, adventure-filled days following the destruction of the Death Star-when the Empire ruled, the Rebels were on the run, and the galaxy was a dangerous place where anything might happen!

the cover is garish, even for Alex Ross. I'll try an issue, but that's it. I'm not a fan of the writer, Massive was even more boring and preachy than DMZ and Conan is just dull. Shame we couldn't have had one of the main SW writers on this book given how high-profile it is. Ostrander could have nailed this in his sleep.
    Recommended Comics:
    Star Wars: Dark Times,
Richard Stark's Parker by Darwyn Cooke,
Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye

Gorgeous cover! Darth Vader's design looks a little odd, but the OT era is my favorite era of Star Wars, so I will definitely be checking this out. Haven't read a SW comic since "Dark Empire."

It seems a bit like the concept for the comics EMPIRE and REBELLION, but probably with more ongoing story, whereas those comics were more sort of self-contained each issue (With a few exceptions).

I wonder how long the ongoing will last with the Disney purchase-a possible return back to Marvel perhaps.

I'm not familiar with Wood's work but have to agree about Ostrander. I'll definitely check out the first few issues and I really hope the first arc delivers.

I havent read a Star Wars comic in probably 20 years (?). I'm looking for something different so I will give this a try. Fan of this period of Star Wars (Old trilogy)

It won't be Star wars the way I remember it if it doesn't have Jaxxon the space rabbit.

He actually mentioned that he read dozens of SW books on a podcast.

    So he likes the EU.
