Why is there no League of Mages in DC Universe?

DC outranks Marvel in the Wizards, Magicians, mystics, and magic levels. However, there is never been a concrete Mages Guild or Wizard League. There is been teams but no League. Whutz up with dat?

Justice League Dark is for the magic side. But Magic did have a council but they died over time. its all covered in The Justice League Back-ups.

There's been several actually

Pre-FP there was:
The Sentinels of Magic (shortlived Johns invention formed to combat the Spectre and safeguard the Spear of Destiny during the Day of Judgement)
The Shadowpact (longer lived team also formed to combat the Spectre during the Day of Vengeance)
The Quintessence (not sure if it really counts)

And now we have
Justice League Dark
Demon Knights...which apparently has lead to the modern day Stormwatch
Council of Wizards...but they've died out by the looks of it
Potentially we have teen version of JLD on the horizon as well headed by Raven, but that's only speculation

Beyond them, the others are already listed but include the Sentinels of Magic, Shadowpact and the Leymen that were big teams. One could perhaps count the League of Ancients from Atlantean times who used magic quite a bit but ended up being betrayed by one of their own.
