Yeah, Reinhold only helped with inks (just once, unfortunately). He's not lightning but he's fast enough.

I was quite fine with the idea of Basri moving up, honestly. I don't want this title to lose him.

I will miss the artist, but I really hope that Green continues to write the book. I think its the one S book that took biggest advantage of the reboot.
    It's my favorite S book.

I'm thinking either he is that fast, or we'll get a fill-in artist while Asrar's doing those four issues, and then he'll come back. If it's the former, it'll be kinda crazy that an artist is doing a Marvel AND a DC book at the same time.

Asrar recently tweeted that, while he preferred doing all of his art using Copic markers, he was going to only do covers and commissions that way in the future for "professional reasons", and was going to start using a more standard pencils and inks style. The Copic marker technique he was using meant he was essentially doing finished art except for the colors, and took longer, so maybe the change was so he could do more pages per month and give him time for another book.

Whew had me going for a moment there. Ive really enjoyed his art and think it has helped define the character in a way it hasnt been before. That said, sooner or later everyone gets tired of their job and moves on.

I wouldn't mind if DC bumped him up to Titans with a different writer who has a clear direction for the franchise. I'd be willing to give it a shot then.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

This is making me all the more suspicious the title is due for a complete creative change, and they're going to give Supergirl to Simone to make up for the Batgirl drama.

    I'd read Simone's Supergirl

But I'd rather read Simone's Suicide Squad.

God, I hope not. I hate Simone's writing. Nothing I have read from her warrants the praise she's garnered. She's pedantic and most of what I have read from her was tripe, aside from her first run on BoP and Secret Six, but even then nothing incredibly special. Her Wonder Woman was absolute garbage, her last run on BoP, and Firestorm were beyond bad...and ugh, I'll just say I am NOT a fan.
There are four stages of matter. Solid. Liquid. Gas & Don't. It's science.

In that case you'll be happy to hear that its just speculation. Based only on a recent tweet that she was offered an iconic female to write that she'd never written before, but nothing's saying that character is even within DC. So more idle speculation on my part more than anything else, meant to be taken with a grain of salt.

I've been a fan of Asrar's since his Dynamo 5 days and its good to see him get the recognition he deserves. I'm also very glad he said he isn't leaving Supergirl (read: DC), but I do wish they'd put him on another/bigger title. Don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying the heck out of Supergirl, but I'd love to see Asrar draw Flash or Nightwing or JLD or JL or BoP, etc. I just wanna see him draw everything!
Comics were happier before the Internet turned writing superhero stories into fruitless attempts to impress/entertain a small group of ppl who appear to hate comics and their creators.

    Always fun to speculate, though.

She honestly woudn't be my first choice for Supergirl, at this point. I'm not sure young wholesome female characters are her strong suit, really. She does ensemble well, and she does sadistic villain well. Secret Six was a triumph -- I continue to be amazed that they haven't put her on Suicide Squad, given the levels of critical acclaim and rock solid numbers Secret Six had (low, sure, but the same could have been said about Jonah Hex...they were consistent).

I have liked Asrar's work since finding Dynamo 5 and was excited when I heard he was drawing Supergirl (although the character I've always wanted to see him drawing was Donna Troy!) I think his work has been stellar on Supergirl and while I certainly dont mind if he stays, I have to agree that I would love to see him drawing Nightwing!! (If he does move on, Sami would be an excellent replacement!)

Shew. This thread nearly gave me a heart attack. I knew we couldn't keep him forever, but I was hoping we could try.
