    Default X-O Manowar

I just bought the TPB of X-O: Manowar. The first arc is pretty intense and exciting! It's surprising how quickly the plot moves along. I am trade-waiting on the entire series, because I just can't afford another book on my pull list, but I have yet to be disappointed by a Valiant book.

Anyone else a big fan of the new Valiant books? They're kind of putting the big two to shame.

Of all the books, I think XO will read the best in trade followed by Bloodshot. For me, Harbinger & A&A are must reads month-to-month. Too early to tell on Shadowman, but that will probably read well in trade as well.

All the books have been dope, though, and every one of them has gotten better as they go.

Yeah, I have A&A and Shadowman on my pull list.

I wonder if there will ever be a moment for Aric to breathe and start to get used to the modern world.

I think Aric works best as a force of nature, stomping from one confrontation to another. Of course this version has much more going for him as a character than the original, so perhaps he will get some reflective moments either during the prelude to Planet Death or after his one-man invasion.

All you'd have needed do is scan the first 5 pages of the Indy forum and you'd see plenty of VALIANT threads showing many posters enthusiasm.

I went and ordered X-O issues courtesy of a Black Friday Sale. I devoured them. I'm really enjoying X-O. It a very unique book with interesting characters. Reading through those issues of X-O made me realize that the big 2 could definitely learn something from Valiant. I also picked up Shadowman, which I really enjoy. I put Bloodshot and Harbinger on my Christmas list. I can't wait to read them. Valiant is so different and really takes the genre seriously. Their stories are far more compelling and complex than anything the big 2 have put out in years. I just can't wait for more. I'm really looking forward to the next issue of X-O and the rest.

I never cared for Valiant back in the day and I still have zero interest in going back and reading the old stuff from the old Valiant company (don't even try recommending it), but I got to say that Valiant Entertainment (the new company) has quickly become my #1 comic book publisher. X-O was a character that I never paid much mind to but now I can't live without, the book has been wonderfully done since its into last May and my monthly reading would be totally naked without this book. Period.
