I have noticed, as a general rule, privacy doesn't really exist in this RP..

One of the reasons I tend to skim stuff not directly affecting Mack is that I want to knock out as much chance of accidentally having Mack know details of stuff he really shouldn't know. That's also the reason I tend to write Mack chaining together facts to figure things out - it makes the process of how I can claim he figured that out fairly transparent, keeping him believable. It's also the real reason I had him do all that spying: That way I wouldn't have to worry about the space shenanigans for a while. I could just go "Did it happen within a 400' radius? (bigger than a lot of buildings) Then I've got an alibi for how he knows this. "

No Mack figuring out about it, and everything else, is well... Understandable. He's always been written as a sneaky bastard

That was an interesting bit of information - this guy from Irie's old crew appeared to have some sort of ability to sense powers in use - it wasn't as though Mack had actually performed any actions within the air itself.

And he was some sort of clairvoyant as well, if he was in turn able to see Mack.

Without being present, Rai had been able to direct it using his clairvoyant senses.

Alternatively, he has something like echolocation.

Mack expected this Rai fellow had used his own sensory abilities to trace Mack's power signature back to its source, and was using Mack's reaction as a cover to disguise his own capacity.

Wrong; no one in the group (unless Cleric decides that the Commander is an enemy of his) is an enemy of his, potential or otherwise. Well, unless they decide to make themselves one.

The man's tone indicated he'd had a fair amount of experience.

Quite a bit too, including twelve years of professional work.

That and the fact that he'd been found in a prison cell, (even if it had been in the same prison being used to hold political prisoners of the new regime) led Mack to suspect that Irie indeed had some sort of underworld connections and that Rai was one of them.

Right and wrong; Rai was one of her bodyguards, and is not one of her underworld connections.

Well that was just peachy. While Mack had been ambivalent about Irie before, this was confirmation she wasn't to be trusted against Volkov. Mack had no real beef with the criminal underworld of Eden for the most part. He'd fenced his share of goods in his day, after all. But the mafioso types weren't really any different from the government - they wanted to be the ones in charge, and if you didn't jump when they said 'cliff' then bad things tended to happen to people. If Irie was fighting against Volkov, it was only to serve her own interests - if the other cadets were to benefit from this, that was only incidental. Once Volkov was taken out, Mack figured her 'family' would be making its own move, and any cadets left over would be faced with the choice of working for them or becoming obstacles for removal.

It's amusing, how reasonable sounding this ultimately wrong paragraph is.

Mack reviewed his own insane plan. If anything, his reasons to try it had only increased. If things worked out correctly, he'd be able to head off a number of nasty outcomes.

Mack's a true paragon of optimism, isn't he?

Heh, Mack is allowed to be wrong. He runs on the GIGO principle, and in this case is making a number of assumptions. Ironically, if he'd overheard some of Irie and Takeshi's earlier conversations, he'd probably be even more entrenched in this theory, because he'd have heard her talking about introducing Takeshi to her family, and he'd probably have taken it the wrong way.

Mack's a true paragon of optimism, isn't he?

Oh, that's only if it works. Mack's relatively sure it won't, and I personally know it won't, but his paranoia-fueled misunderstandings have led him to feel driven into a corner, and he's going to be scrabbling for even the slightest chance.

Yeah, the ability to OHKO people, regardless of their durability, with a kick to the stomach is way too broken to be allowed in the game.

Skye can't even come close. Unless it's a class 150 electrical attack, and then she's still completely outclassed.

Cas is sitting at around 50 (70) with resistance to fire and electricity, without an external electrical boost. If he were able to let Skye or Max electrocute him, he'd tank anything shy of an Irie special or a Camsplosion.
