Dsyart's Unknown Solider is a great comic.
That issue spoilers:end of spoilers
where he personifies an AK-47 caught me completely off guard and just news me away.

Saludos desde el exilio a una generación de destructores.
It also had one of the best endings of all time. ALL TIME!

I love Fables, it's only flaw is the writer just won't end the bloody thing!
Great world-building, great characters and characterisation, genre-bending, action, humour and intelligence.
"You can't trust them as poets either. The true poet is anonymous, as to his habits, but these boys have to look, act, and apparently smell like poets"
Flannery O'Connor on the beats.
That opening paragraph... Sends chills down my spine.

Newsarama did a similar list a week or two ago, and I have to say that this list is orders of magnitude better than that one simply because they didn't forget about transmet. I'm happy that my top three made the list which are:
3. Transmet
2. Y
1. Preacher
Wait, first you say that they forgot about Transmet and then you see that it made it? O.o

It IS awesome, and is one of those overlooked gems that a lot of people don't know about. Kyle Baker is a genius anyway, but this is one of his most perfect works. This piece also perfectly demonstrates the balance and synergy of words and pictures and how they compliment each other so well.
Adding more love for Sandman Mystery Theatre here. Only read the first five or so issues, but I do love Guy Davis' art (plus he's a great guy from what I can tell), so I think it's always worth mentioning. The colouring might be a little odd in the first arc, the second is a bit weird with its worrying depictions of the Chinese, but as a title? It's awesome.
Always sad to see it not even get a mention when someone drools over Sandman. They were both born out of the same title, and I think they had a tiny bit of overlap at some point (doesn't Wesley appear in Sandman?).
Pulling: Whispers, 2000AD, Red Sonja: Unchained, Amala's Blade, Princeless
