Looking at the comparative statistics, Marvel's total unit sales are down 3.8% on October's, and DC's are down 8.6%. Everyone else's combined are down 3.8% and as per the article, the market overall is down 5.4%.

Of the total year to date unit sales, Marvel has a 38% market share, and DC is right behind them with 36.5%. This time last year, Marvel had 40% of the market, with DC at 35%, and for Jan to Nov 2010, Marvel had 44% of the market, with DC at 34%.

Still looking at total year to date unit sales, Marvel's unit sales have increased by 4%, DC's by 13%, and everyone else's combined by 21.5%. YTD sales for the market overall are up 11.5%. Looking at the 12 monthly sales (i.e. Dec to Nov '11 vs Dec to Nov '12) gives us roughly similar figures.

there are in Jan & Feb but not nearly the pace at which they are doing it in Nov-Dec.

I know that most of the sales were fueled by all the Skottie variants!!!!

Poor first impressions. I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel NOW as a whole falls faster than New 52.DC did a lot more to promote their relaunch initiative for lapsed and new readers. Marvel didn't do nearly as much to reach out to that crowd.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

On Deadpool #1? Seven variants, although a few of them were retailer-specific and not order-based.

I suspect the title won't maintain that high a ranking, then, although it should settle down somewhere comfortable. Heck, the previous volume was doing decent, if not stellar, numbers, so if it finds that level again, it should be fine.

More than likely, but it's easy to overestimate and underestimate with Deadpool. Going by the last series, which lasted a respectable 63 issues, the decline may be more gradual than for most comics.

I predict this series will do better than Daniel Way's. This was a competitive month, so it's likely it broke 100,000 units. Still, we'll have to wait until we have more information.

Obviously, the numbers for issue 2, when revealed, will help establish a pattern.

I would really like to see the Top 100 of the month. That will show how many people stayed interested in the comics such as All New X-Men, Thor: God of Thunder and Iron Man which came out twice in November. I'll also be interested after the first story arc is done for Marvel Now! and see how many artists will be able to hold up the same type of schedule.

I've only been getting [I]Iron Man[I] because of Kieron Gillen, Indestructible Hulk for Leinil Yu and Captain America because of John Romita, Jr. They were all really good issues but I don't know how long I'm going to stay after the first story arc. All New X-Men has been good, I need to re-read the first three issues because #3 confused me, but if Uncanny X-Men is going to be more focused on Cyclops then I'll get that instead.

I hope later down the line Marvel will put a specific title on a specific Wednesday of the month like DC has been doing. Some jump around like Green Lantern and Justice League but all the other titles always have a specific Wednesday of the month on when they'll come out.

Look at Marvel and DC go at it. Fight. Fight. Fight! Now, that's good competition right there.

It doesn't stink, but it's not great either.

#3 was mostly Scott whining about everything.

Didn't take Bendis long to get the hang of writing X-Men.

    The real story is that:

    a. year on year sales continue to grow at ca. 14% despite the launch month for the New 52 dropping out.

    b. Sales at publishers other than Marvel and DC continue to grow faster than Marvel or DC sales.
