Well I am not sure the word replacement necessarily implies equal quality.

As for Diversity: Cassie and Young Vision are dead. Eli is gone and Speed is around. New members are Loki, Noh Varr and MAC. So all in all Gillen will do a better job diversity wise as long as the next member he adds is not a white male.

Its hard to not look at it that way. Sure Gillen's going to update the theme a bit but its half the old roster and has the same name on the title. Not exactly a clean break unlike say Bendis' New Avengers and Hickman's New Avenger.

Unless you want to compare it against Avengers Arena on the basis of most of the cast being teens. Which I figure is inevitable as well.

Three of the same characters, but one of those has already developed way past where they were when we saw them last (Kate ofc) and the other two can quickly and easily grow up, as the previews show.

A different beast indeed.
