Default Just read Spider-Men, question about the end

I first have to say that I don't follow either universe anymore, only really read ultimate Spiderman and Ultimate X-men at least until Peter Parker died. After that I really didn't care anymore. I found the 5 issues of Spider-men and bought them. I did enjoy them, but I do have a question about the end when Peter looks up Miles in his universe. I'm assuming he probably is just dead or something, but I'm wondering if anybody can tell me or tell me if its answered anywhere.

It was left like that on purpose to build some suspense, no solid answer has been given yet.

It will be answered in the possible sequel if there ever is one. Ultimate Marvel just had a cross-over event that didn't really deliver in reception nor sales due to the Ultimates, now all titles are doing their own thing, but maybe Bendis will sooner or later cook up the Spider-Men 2 story.

Well, no one knows who Miles is on 616 Universe yet, we expect a answer in a possible Spider Men sequel, but until now, there is no clue of the answer on anywhere

That's what I thought. I don't know, is the ultimate universe any good anymore? I honestly have nothing against Miles, but I hate the fact that practically all the big characters except Iron Man, Captain America and Thor are dead. I may try out Miles run on Ultimate Spiderman since I did like him in Spider-Men (which I guess was kind of the whole point of the book now that I think about it)

UCSM has been up and down imho worth checking out if you like Miles. Ultimate X-Men is awesome especially since you can read Spencer's run as a "complete" story now and Wood is killing it. Ultimates was amazing under Hickman's pen and has been very bad since Humphries took over.

And describing Humphries' Ultimates as "very bad" is an understatement.

Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men are both worth checking out again.

How is it complete? Pretty much all of his set-up has barely been touched upon since he left the book. The Apocalypse story is still pending. Apocalypse was the primary force behind Divided We Fall. He manipulated Reverend Stryker which then lead to the Nimrod Sentinel army exterminating mutants across America. Apocalypse has been trying to exterminate the mutants, (which leads me to believe he may have even played a part in Ultimatum).

That's why I put it in quotes. If you read it from issue 1-12 it could be a whole story, just with a lot of unanswered questions. Maybe complete isn't the right word, but I'm not sure what else to call it.

Well we have a new Jeph Loeb in the form of Sam Humphries, but the Ultimate Iron Man mini, Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Spider-Man are all enjoyable titles, the X-Men title being the very best.

Good writing will make you a fan of the X-Men, nothing to worry.

    Ah, ok. My mistake.

I was at work and on my phone when I replied and didn't see the quotation marks. I think that's got to be third time I've made that mistake with you. Sorry. I'll read more carefully in future.

I agree. Brian Wood's #13 really felt like a new start, a fresh start to the series.

Miles' first appearance and origin in the 616 will occur next year in Avenging Fantasy #15.. in which Danny Rand is wounded in a fight while trying to save Miles and his parents from a group of street thugs. Seeing his parents murdered and Iron Fist wounded, Miles conjures the emotional and physical strength to carry him to a nearby hospital. Iron Fist thanks the now orphaned Miles then dies after instructing him to travel to K'un L'un where his bravery will be rewarded. Avenging Fantasy is cancelled and Miles' story continues in Superior Iron Fist #1
